All India Trinamool Congress has written letters to President Droupadi Murmu and Governor of West Bengal, RN Ravi, seeking appointments for AITC delegations to highlight the alleged lawlessness, a disturbing and systematic misuse of the police being carried out by BJP in the state.
VIDEO | Kolkata, West Bengal: TMC spokesperson Upasana Chowdhury on alleged attack on party office, says, "As you all know... around 3.30 am, some BJP workers and some people associated with the BJP came to Camac Street. They came to Camac Street, assaulted our security officer, and then entered our office here on Camac Street. After that, you all saw the video that Abhishek Banerjee shared on social media. You can see in video how BJP workers, covering their faces and wearing helmets, were stealing and vandalising property. We want to reiterate one thing... when this incident was taking place at around 3.30 am, we repeatedly tried to contact the police and administration. We sent emails and also tried to reach the officials concerned here. However, no one answered our calls at that time, and no one responded or came to the spot."

NOTE: Amidst all the heated debate over GDP numbers, here is a stat that should really worry: For the first time since 2011, there has been a decline in the number of Indian students pursuing undergraduate degrees. In 2023-’24, undergraduate enrolment decreased by 93,321 students compared with the previous academic year, representing a decline of 0.29%. What does that reveal? If you’re a history buff, it’s wonderful to go through https://t.co/GTBs689tYL. The Selected works of Jawaharlal Nehru in 100 volumes covering the period 1903-1964 have been uploaded. They are fully searchable and can be freely downloaded. An absolute treasure trove. (And useful for political point-scoring too!)
VIDEO | TMC supremo Mamata Banerjee says, "...You cannot stop the opposition all the time. Please remember that... What happened at the Anand Bazar Patrika office, we condemn. What happened at Jadavpur University, including other colleges and universities, we condemn. We condemned the Cooch Behar incident, the Banipur incident, the Garhbeta incident, the Bankura incident, and the incidents involving students and youth. We condemned all the atrocities that you have committed in Delhi. We just want people to get justice. We want justice for human beings. If you don't give justice, then remember, there is always someone to deliver justice... If you don't stop these atrocities, we don't want to violate the rules, but please allow us to live peacefully. It is our democratic right, our constitutional right. You cannot take it for granted that every day you will torture us, target us, and we will just take the lollipop from you..."
Bureaucrats are being picked up from their morning walks. Journalists are being beaten inside police stations.
Yet we are told this is the “Mother of Democracy.”
Mother of democracy? Or the mother of all authoritarianism, Sarkar ?

#WATCH | Delhi: On the alleged vandalism at the TMC office, TMC MP Mahua Moitra says, "The CCTV footage from the elevator at 4:30 am shows about 20 to 25 BJP workers arrived. They first snatched the mobile phones from the security guards and threatened to smash their heads with long metal rods. The intruders then proceeded to the sixth and seventh floors and entered the offices...you can see them arriving with their faces covered by masks. Once inside, they wreaked havoc...we made countless calls to the police...our people had actually managed to catch six of them and hand them over to the police. Now the police claim they have arrested six people—though we don't know who they are—and are acting in a hyper-active manner, sealing off premises and detaining us. This is a joint mission between the police and the BJP..."
TMC national general secretary Abhishek Banerjee alleged that BJP hooligans, armed with weapons, stormed the party's Camac Street office here early on Thursday and vandalised the premises. In a post on X, Banerjee said they ransacked the office and destroyed electronic equipment, calling the incident a "disgraceful assault on the rule of law". He alleged that despite repeated calls and emails from party workers and lawyers, Kolkata Police did not respond for nearly two hours, terming the delay "outrageous and unacceptable". 📹Trinamool Congress
#WATCH | Delhi | On the death of a 15-year-old teenager due to alleged delay in treatment at AIIMS Delhi, father Mukesh Pariyani says, “…I had come to AIIMS, Delhi, for my daughter's treatment. I visited for the first time on October 10, 2012, to the OPD. After that, I went to Room No. 14. From there, I was referred to Room No. 18. Some initial tests and examinations were conducted by Dr Kothari. This process took about a year. Then, I was referred to Dr Sachin Talwar in Room No. 4. Dr Sachin Talwar asked me to deposit the money and blood, assuring me that he would operate. I deposited the blood and money on April 4, 2014. After the OPD visit, I was given a date for the operation. When I went on September 2, 2015, I was told the operation would be done after Diwali… I tried contacting them after January 4, but I was given the runaround; they kept saying the operation wouldn't be done just yet and kept postponing it… After that, following another OPD visit, I lodged a formal complaint with the PMO… After the complaint was filed, we received a call from the hospital asking us to come in so the surgery could be performed. Dr Sachin Talwar called us but then refused to operate, stating that unless the complaint was withdrawn, he wouldn't proceed… We made several rounds back and forth, but they kept putting us off, saying they would do it later and telling us to come back another time… In 2018, we were asked to get the necessary tests done. Despite the examinations, we received no response, nor were we informed about the nature of the illness. I went again in 2023, but they refused to operate... Then, in 2025, we filed a complaint again… Then we were asked to come on July 28, 2025. When we went, the doctor was on leave… They then said that the child would manage on medication alone and had no issues, and they just sent us away like that. After the medication was prescribed on the OPD card, I called and lodged a complaint on February 9, 2026… They kept running tests, but the operation never happened; they just kept running tests… My child passed away. Who is responsible for this?.. If my daughter could have been cured through an operation back in 2015, 2016, or 2017, why didn't they perform it? I want the strictest possible action to be taken… I demand an inquiry; I want justice…”
This CCTV footage captured from the residence of an artist accused by the Noida police in the Noida workers protest case is a damning indictment of the police which seems to have fabricated evidence & then tried to destroy the evidence caught on CCTV camera!
A 15-year-old girl, who faced immense public scrutiny last month for purportedly using expletives about Prime Minister Narendra Modi during the youth protests at Jantar Mantar, has in another video alleged that the prime minister has “turned my life into hell”.
The video has been widely shared on social media this week. The girl has alleged that Prime Minister Modi had had her “tortured” to the extent that she had “lost everything”, including her freedom.
While it was not clear when or where the video was recorded, the girl’s lawyer confirmed to The Wire that it was not generated using AI.
“Modiji, you have turned my life into hell. I am unable to leave my home and have had to hide my face wherever I go,” she is heard saying in the video.
