Solidarity saves lives. Following the devastating earthquakes in #Venezuela, #Lithuania will send urgent, life-saving support: Emergency Medical and Search & Rescue Teams, including K9 units, along with around 26 tonnes of specialised medical, humanitarian and rescue equipment to help the country and its people.
Appreciate efficient cooperation with #Germany, helping #Lithuanian specialists and critical assistance reach Venezuela faster.
Lithuania continues diplomatic coordination with international partners, including the United States, to strengthen joint search, rescue and emergency medical response efforts.
Today, Crimean Tatars mark Flag Day, honoring a symbol of dignity, identity, and resilience that continues to sustain hope through years of Russian aggression and occupation. The day will come when this flag flies freely over Crimea. #CrimeaIsUkraine

Tonight is one of the brightest and most magical nights of the year in Lithuania. Joninės, also known as Rasos, comes alive with bonfires, flower crowns, folk songs, dancing, and the search for the mythical fern blossom.
Enjoy tonight‘s magic of Midsummer! 🌿
On the International Day for the Elimination of Sexual Violence in Conflict, we reaffirm: Russia, listed by the UN for conflict-related sexual violence in Ukraine, has no place in UN peacekeeping operations.
Victims deserve justice&support. Perpetrators must be held accountable.
Member states of the Ukraine Defense Contact Group (Ramstein format) have announced new contributions in support of Ukraine.
We thank Norway 🇳🇴, the Netherlands 🇳🇱, Germany 🇩🇪, Sweden 🇸🇪, Luxembourg 🇱🇺, Lithuania 🇱🇹, Latvia 🇱🇻, Iceland 🇮🇸, and Australia 🇦🇺 for contributing more than $1 billion to the PURL programme. This is the largest PURL support package announced within the framework of Ukraine Defense Contact Group meetings.
We are grateful to Norway 🇳🇴, Denmark 🇩🇰, Luxembourg 🇱🇺, Spain 🇪🇸, and Lithuania 🇱🇹 for supporting the Czech ammunition initiative and the delivery of long-range munitions, amounting to more than $500 million.
We also appreciate the support of the United Kingdom 🇬🇧, the Netherlands 🇳🇱, and Norway 🇳🇴, which have committed nearly $1 billion toward the production of Ukrainian drones and missiles.
Every contribution to Ukraine's defence is an investment in our collective security and brings us closer to a just and lasting peace.
Lithuania lodged a protest note to Russia over strikes on the Kyiv Pechersk Lavra and other culturally important sites in Ukraine. Deliberate destruction of the UNESCO World Heritage is a blatant violation of the 1954 Hague Convention. Such a war crime must not stay unpunished.
“Increasing the pressure also means isolating Russia internationally. As Russia bombs cathedrals, Europe should not roll out the red carpet for Russian artists and athletes that support Kremlin’s war. Culture and sport should not be a tool to whitewash aggression” - @kajakallas at press conference in Luxembourg June 15, 2026

🇪🇺🇺🇦🇲🇩
This was a truly historic day for Europe.
Today, #Ukraine and #Moldova – two candidate countries that have been guarding the European civilization from evil darkness in the East – officially started their #EU accession talks. A step that was long overdue, that was unnecessarily difficult, but that has been made.
What has been a dream for millions of Ukrainian and Moldovan people for decades, today became a reality.
Many might see today‘s opening of the first (fundamentals) clusters with the two countries just as the beginning of lengthy and cumbersome negotiations. Nevertheles today‘s event also serves as the starting point of the countdown towards their eventual EU accession.
We send our sincere congratulations to everyone who made this happen. We are there to assist Ukraine and Moldova to open all the remaining clusters without any further delay, and to close them as quickly as it is possible. Your success is also our success. And we are equally committed to it.
russia's hatred reached the Kyiv Pechersk Lavra. Fire burns in the Dormition Cathedral, whose golden domes have watched over this city for centuries. 🇺🇦 is heavily wounded by the innocent lives lost to russia's war & tonight, another wound was opened in one of its holiest places.
On June 15, 1940, the USSR occupied Lithuania. Soviets did not care about breaking international treaties. Deportations, murders, and terrors followed for the next 50 years. Russia took on the legacy of the USSR. The aggressor cannot be tolerated and must be stopped.
Today, Lithuania marks the Day of Mourning and Hope – the date when, 85 years ago, the brutal stalinist regime began the mass deportations of peaceful citizens of #Lithuania. Civil servants, doctors, teachers, farmers, lawyers, and even newborn babies were labelled “vragami naroda” – enemies of the people. Entire families were torn apart, taken from their homes in the middle of the night and transported in cattle wagons to Siberia, forced to survive in inhuman conditions. Around 17,000 Lithuanians were deported during the June deportations in 1941, and hundreds of thousands were deported over the course of the soviet occupation. Only a few of them managed to survive.
There is no family in Lithuania untouched by this tragedy. And today, as Russia repeats the same in #Ukraine, the echoes of history feel painfully close. The forced deportations of Ukrainian civilians – including children – from occupied territories; filtration camps where people are brutally interrogated, separated, or disappeared; deliberate attacks on residential areas and civilians; and systematic terror against people simply trying to survive – all of this reminds us that the machinery of repression did not vanish with the 20th century.
Russia’s crimes against humanity committed today in Ukraine mirror the horror stories of the soviet occupation passed down in our own families – the knock on the door at night, the trains, the separation, the fear, the death. They remind us that unpunished brutality tends to repeat itself when justice is denied.
Every crime against humanity must face justice. Just as the crime of aggression by Russia against Ukraine… Justice is not only a moral duty to the victims – it is the only safeguard that prevents such horrors from returning.
As we honour those who suffered and perished 85 years ago, we also stand with those who endure violence today, insisting that accountability is the foundation of just and lasting peace.
One step closer to 🇪🇺! EU Member States have agreed to open the first negotiating cluster with #Ukraine and #Moldova. A landmark move on their path to #EU membership and a powerful signal that the enlargement process is advancing. Next stop: Intergovernmental Conferences on Monday - and the swift opening of all remaining clusters. Ukraine and Moldova must keep driving reforms forward. The momentum is there. Now it's time to build on it.
Today, the European Union took a major step forward.
All Member States agreed to open the first accession negotiations cluster with Ukraine and Moldova.
At the first Intergovernmental Conference on Monday, we will open the cluster on fundamentals; the backbone of the accession process.
It covers the core values and principles on which the EU is built, from the rule of law to strong democratic institutions.
This is a recognition of the determination, courage and hard work shown by both countries in advancing reforms, even in the face of immense challenges.
And a signal that the EU’s offer of peace, stability and opportunity is unmatchable.
Enlargement is a strategic choice.
By bringing our nations closer together, we strengthen peace, security and prosperity across our continent.
In a world marked by growing uncertainty, a larger European Union is in our common interest.
Enlargement remains one of the EU’s greatest success stories and our best investment in our shared future.
#NB8 Prime Ministers met @ZelenskyyUa in Tallinn. Our message is clear: we will continue to stand with Ukraine until a just and lasting peace is achieved.
Ukraine belongs in the EU. All six accession clusters should be opened without delay. NATO must remain on the table as the strongest security guarantee.
Ukraine is not only defending itself. Ukraine is defending Europe. Together, we will produce more, innovate faster and strengthen our defence industries. A secure Ukraine is essential for a secure Europe.

As Ukraine marks Journalists’ Day today, we underscore the vital mission of telling the truth about Russia’s war against Ukraine, documenting the crimes of the aggressor state, and sharing the realities faced by the Ukrainian people with the world.
This mission is not easy and is often carried out under extremely dangerous conditions. We are grateful to all journalists who continue their work despite the serious risks, helping ensure that facts prevail over propaganda and that the truth is heard.
Since the start of Russia’s full-scale invasion, at least 149 media professionals have been killed, including 21 while carrying out their journalistic duties. Around 30 Ukrainian journalists and media workers remain in Russian captivity.
Eternal memory to all those who lost their lives due to Russia’s aggression. Ukraine works every day to secure the release of every media employee from Russia’s brutal captivity.
18 years after #Russia’s war against Georgia, hundreds of thousands of residents from occupied territories remain internally displaced. On behalf of the Nordic-Baltic countries 🇩🇰🇪🇪🇫🇮🇮🇸🇱🇻🇱🇹🇳🇴🇸🇪 at #UNGA, @pranevicius reiterated firm support for Georgia’s sovereignty and territorial integrity, as well as for the right of all IDPs and refugees to return home safely and with dignity.

How does #NATO become stronger?
By every ally delivering on the commitments we have collectively made.
#Lithuania is leading by example, becoming the first NATO ally to exceed 5% of GDP on defence in 2026.
