after the YC startup scl event, it seems like there is an increase in number of CTOs in the making and a sharp drop in number of people who actually ideate things.
May be addiction is the reason, addiction to be productive every day of the week. We have become so obsessed with execution that we have closed ourselves off to the art of discovery. We need days of intentional aimlessness when we do things for no reward other than the act itself.
True ideation isn't forced. In the state of zero-pressure creativity, we catch the sparks of ideas that a busy, 'productive' mind is too narrow to notice.
People with little knowledge overestimate their abilities, because they don't yet know how much they don't know.
In a way, innocence fuels overconfidence.
When you're new, you see the surface and think you've seen it all.
