This very good piece on consent in #datagovernance from a feminist perspective provides food for thought re. consent in research settings. Personally, I can't wait to see the end of the frequently meaningless and tokenistic "informed consent" box ticking! #datafeminism
Further, to conduct this qualitative research. I adopted a mixed approach, to answer Qs from my secondary research I interviewed some early adopters, key informants and experts. Thank you @teninthemorning@matthan@bgmahesh@kamyachandra@logic@lifeeth@anivar & many more.
To assess the Account Account framework, I relied on my previous research with @anjakovacs wherein we delineated the 6 principles of consent on the basis of our understanding shortcomings of consent in #dataprotection regimes and #feminist readings. https://t.co/Kd9pdpU20t
The research maps and highlights how the @sahamati’s AA framework aims to address and is addressing the critiques of consent in #dataprotection . While doing so the paper also illustrates how can the consent framework be further strengthened. https://t.co/3JW9jfwbra
Account Aggregator ecosystem is still evolving, to understand it better and contribute to the consent aspect (major building block)of it. I undertook a research last year, the research highlights the progress of the current #consent architecture and addresses the shortcomings.
Using feminist lens to study India's Account Aggregators, @iNetDemocracy finds that while they improve consent from status quo, they cannot succeed without changes in the broader ecosystem. We need more such sociological critiques of tech solutions. Link: https://t.co/eBGCmSZVWb
Thanks for publishing the study and in the interest of adding knowledge to ecosystem + others studying it, publishing my responses that were given for the study in Nov 2020.

We are grateful to all those who contributed to this study, especially those who are working to make the AA ecosystem a reality and so generously contributed their wisdom and time. Many thanks to them, and happy reading to all of you! #bodiesanddata#datagovernance
A research study by @iNetDemocracy examines how well the developing Account Aggregator ecosystem in India is delivering in practice. Assessing it against each of the feminist principles of consent and its alignment with the feminist principles, are AAs effective? (1/2)
