If OutKast counts as a “band” then there is no excuse for leaving off The Temptations. Once category is no longer the issue - the omission is indefensible on merit. You can argue where The Temptations belong on the list but leaving them out entirely is strange. Personally, I take David Ruffin over Marvin Gaye as a singer, though I know I’m probably in the minority on that.
Einstein, von Neumann, Teller, Kubrick, Woody Allen, Larry David, Hans Zimmer, Emmanuel Lubezki, Bob Dylan, Sergey Brin.
I could go on and on. These are not marginal figures being propped up by group preference. They are among the most accomplished people in their respective fields, and they are all Jewish.
Did people intentionally lose to Kasparov? Did people pretend to like Simon and Garfunkel? Were people forced to use Google? Was Seinfeld just luck, and then Curb too? Did Einstein simply stumble onto low hanging fruit?
Is your explanation really ingroup preference and favoritism? That cannot account for repeated, extreme achievement across mathematics, physics, film, comedy, music, cinematography, and technology, especially in fields where performance is independently visible and often objectively measurable.
Smarter or dumber, at some point you also have to look at the world itself and inspect what actually happened, not just stare at a piece of paper.
Interesting. Given your bio, I don’t even feel qualified to respond to your post, but I’ll give it the ol’ college try.
Did that study control for obesity? My American brothers are quite stout, and obesity directly affects testosterone levels. Did they measure grip strength? Caucasians are, on average, taller and stronger, and every study I’ve seen comparing the two has found greater grip strength in American women than Asian women, and the same is true of the men.
Caucasians are, on average, taller and bigger, which gives them an advantage in absolute strength. Bigger frames generally mean more muscle mass and more potential to generate force and torque. Obviously that doesn’t mean every taller person is stronger than every shorter person, but at the population level, size matters.
And if the question is who is actually stronger in real world terms, you can’t simply “adjust away” height and body size. Those are part of the phenotype producing the strength difference in the first place.
The last thing I’d look at is whether the testosterone finding actually lines up with the broader androgenic phenotype. If one study says East Asian men have higher testosterone, but grip strength, body size, lean mass, bone mineral density, and androgen dependent developmental traits such as penile size don’t show the corresponding pattern, I don’t think that study should be treated as decisive evidence that East Asian men have a higher overall androgenic phenotype.
That said, I’ll happily stand corrected if the evidence really shows that East Asian men have higher total testosterone.
@curtis_yarvin Dario Amodei is drafting off decades of physiognomic goodwill built by Rick Moranis and later reinforced by Matthew Rhys. Stolen physiognomy goodwill valor.
It is more nuanced than you are intimating. You must care about IQ and more importantly - innovative capacity. Asians, due to their lower testosterone and culture (I.e. afraid to correct their pilot in the cockpit) are more risk averse which is why they are outclassed in innovation by Europeans. Ashkenazi Jews are disproportionately skewed towards verbal ability and have higher IQs on average - which explains their over representation in most fields but in particular law, medicine, and Hollywood. Europeans are the sweet spot for innovation and creativity because they smart enough (just behind Jews and Asians) but unlike Asians have the commensurate testosterone needed for risk taking and the spatial ability that most Jews are weaker in.
It’s obvious you never played sports because regular people KNOW all of this without ever needing Raven Progressive matrices.
High general intelligence may be necessary or strongly advantageous for innovation without being sufficient.
Both are dependent on pharmaceutical companies for their health. Both are “gender affirming care” patients. At a minimum RFK Jr. is on supraphysiological regiment of TRT and the loon on the left is on estrogen + a cocktail of God knows what else. Department of Health: Both on drugs.

@TheHangedHermit The quality-adjusted life year or quality-adjusted life-year (QALY) is a generic measure of disease burden, including both the quality and the quantity of life lived. It is used in economic evaluation to assess the value of medical interventions. 😐
@JonathanSatava @LegendaryEnergy They consider transition surgery/hormonal therapy a treatment that falls under the rubric of a medical necessity (radiation treatment, brain surgery). Not elective & inaction is detrimental to the short & long term prospects of the individual?
@mishyava Facebook Overlords informed me it's your Birthday. So Happy Birthday! And here's a contemplative quote to mmm contemplate "The present moment is, in some sense, already a memory that is being buffered." So, good-luck in all your future buffering.
