@nicksortor@EAMckinstry The problem with that is that our refineries are designed to run “sour” and “heavy” crude. Not the sweet and light crude that we produce domestically.
@Firefly_ICU812@RealMaxtern@MrBeast The wells they’re drilling don’t use electricity. They’re old school pump wells. Which is great, less maintenance is needed, no education needed, and they only really need to be inspected after a disaster.
@NoContextHumans In the US: 10 people die per day of drowning, 3 of them are children. So yes, teaching your babies how to back float is essential. Especially if you have a pool or live near a body of water.
@yabaleftonline Underwater bridge. It’s actually cheaper (sometimes) to build a tunnel above ground, trench, then sink the tunnel sections and fill over them instead of building a bridge or boring holes.
@QuantumAlteredX And even that isn’t enough for many alcoholics. Or even addicts in general. They don’t love anything more than they love their given vice. So even if they have nothing: if they can find quarters at the car wash to get what they want they’re happy.
@QuantumAlteredX Having been this kid, I can absolutely promise you that *something* is going on in the house and some form of neglect or abuse is happening. Likely: kid is on the way to school and dad used lunch money mom gave to the kid for booze.
@ServantOfO1 @LarryTaunton The easy answer: it’s hard. There’s many tools that people can use to obfuscate or conceal their location even to a 911 phone system. On top of that, many remote 911 PSAPs don’t have the technology to ping a phone and must do so from the carrier directly which, also, see above.
@dominickimbo981@NaanVi0lence@2A_Freedom You said this doesn’t happen in any other civilized country. It does. France is right behind the US in gun crime. The US has a cultural problem. You can NOT legislate your way out of cultural issues.
@NaanVi0lence@2A_Freedom It doesnt? Knife gangs in Asia? What about Charlie Hebdo? The UK has legislation over everything and there’s still violent crime and murder there. Let’s talk about France, they have some of the toughest gun laws in the world…
