Did you know that all living things have DNA within their cells? For the organism to live and develop, its DNA cannot change, but DNA molecules aren't completely stable and can also be damaged.
Aziz Sancar was one of three scientists to receive the 2015 Nobel Prize in Chemistry for “mechanistic studies of DNA repair.”
His research showed that DNA damaged by ultraviolet light can be fixed with certain repair enzymes. In the human body, each cell's genome undergoes thousands and thousands of changes each day and the DNA copying for cell division happens millions of times. DNA can be damaged by both ultraviolet (UV) light from the sun, environmental pollutants, and toxins.
By studying bacteria, Sancar discovered and mapped out how cells can repair this damage from UV light which has allowed researchers further insight into cellular homeostasis and ageing.

Ajay Wadaokar who was playing the cop asked the two photographer for their name . Vinod Chora and Sudhir Mishra they answered and hence a cinema myth was born 😂
In 1980, Dr. Shreeram Lagoo stepped into film direction with his first feature Zhaakol, a psychological murder mystery.
For this film, he hoped to include the voice of Pt. Kumar Gandharva, something that had never taken place in cinema before. He requested Panditji, who agreed, and recorded a song specifically for the film. It was filmed as a full concert sequence, making it a rare and remarkable moment in film history.
Panditji appears in the sequence with his long-time accompanists, Sh. Chintamani Kirkire and Smt Neelambari Kirkire. [parents of @swanandkirkire] for the Sangat like his many live concerts.
One of the real power of cinema is its ability to preserve performance and memory.
We lost Chintamani Kirkire sir today. His departure was gentle and dignified, in keeping with the quiet grace he carried through life. I am sure he will continue to breathe in Swanand bhai's music.
Sharing this Kumarji song in Kirkire sir's memory, where he performs on screen alongside Kumarji.

Reminder that the Paris Masters trophy is a tree because the artist tasked with creating it randomly rotated a draw sheet 90 degrees, saw a tree, and said it would be cool to carve the players' names on the branches, mirroring the draw, so each tree would bear witness to the past

Excerpt from Asrani's final podcast.
Asrani's full name was Govardhan Kumar Asrani.
He was among those Hindi cinema artists who played a variety of characters but was most remembered as a comedian.
Asrani's father was a manager in a carpet factory.
Asrani was the second of eight siblings.
On August 9, 2025, in Kahani Zindagi Ki, he shared how he landed the role of the jailer in the film Sholay.
He also mentioned that Jaya Bachchan was studying with him when she got a role in Guddi.
Additionally, Asrani spoke about the nuances of comedy, his career, and various aspects of his personal life.
