We need a Mandy Barrett art room in every primary school with a specialist art teacher teaching creativity across all the subjects to fortify children’s intelligence in the age of AI
Update! In the last 4 weeks I’ve not used a single glue stick in any of my art lessons. I made these glue sponges(not my original idea)and students have loved them. No more dried out glue, missing lids or mouldy melted glue, and a massive saving for my dept budget. Win win ☺️
We will be launching a new £85m capital grant fund for the arts and culture sector this summer, funding urgent capital works to help arts and culture organisations across the country resolve issues with their estates

Was meaning to blog this but was getting distracted so a rare🧵:
I see 100s of lessons and teachers and it’s clear to me the best teaching appears fluid and artful but is always built on sound techniques deployed with purpose; intentionality; precision.. /n
How I learn a class of names in 5 mins. I wrote this a few years ago, but have used this popular method for over 20 years.

Couldn’t find my own words to adequately sum up 9 years at the school I’m moving on from this year. Instead I quoted a few from Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young “Teach your children well”. It got a little emotional. https://t.co/E0ZHiYnror
