The Flame of Hope is an eternal flame that honors Frederick Banting's discovery of insulin. The Flame will be extinguished when a cure for #diabetes is developed & was 1st kindled by the Queen Mother on 7/7/1989. It was vandalized in 2020 & reignited that year on WDD.

My 8-year-old son's #diaversary is coming up, and my birthday is this Wednesday, so I decided to get this tattoo the other day. It's a Dexcom G6 with my son's diagnosis date, a #JDRF blue T1D ribbon, followed by 'Family is Greater than the Highs and Lows.'
