Even after leaving the hospital, Chris was still an active and cherished member of the Mountain Rescue community. Our deepest condolences go to Chris' family.
Chris Lewis - a Cumbrian mountain rescuer who suffered life changing injuries while helping 2 campers in February 2021 - has died.
Patterdale MRT say he passed away on Monday.
In March Chris received the Inspiring Eden Award for his bravery and service to the community.

"For our swiftwater technicians, a time to practice river crossing and rescue techniques. For other members, learning about bank safety and water incidents. For all, a chance for a good wash behind the ears."
