U18 3x3 Event to Honor Kabano
The 🇷🇼 Basketball Federation (FERWABA), in partnership with the Kabano family through the Kenrik and Rosine Kabano Foundation, will host a U18 3x3 basketball tournament in Kigali to honor the memory of former Rwanda youth international Kenrik Kabano and his mother, Rosine Kabano.
Kenrik and Rosine lost their lives in a road accident in Texas, United States, in April. The memorial tournament is scheduled for June 26 at Zaria Court and will celebrate their lives while preserving the legacy they leave behind.
Widely regarded as one of Rwanda's most promising young basketball talents, Kenrik represented the country at the 2023 FIBA Africa U16 Boys Championship in Tunisia, where he helped the national team reach the quarterfinals.
FERWABA said the tournament is intended not only to pay tribute to Kenrik's passion for the game but also to recognize the vital role his mother played in supporting his basketball journey and personal growth.
The event will bring together some of Rwanda's top young players, with 10 teams competing in the boys' category and six in the girls' division.
FERWABA, with the Kabano Family, will host a U18 3x3 tournament on June 26 at Zaria Court to honor the memory of Kenrik Kabano & his mother Rosine.A celebration of sport, family, and legacy.
Cheerleading pom-poms, applause & proud smiles all around at @MarriottIntl HQ in Washington, D.C. as #Rwanda’s own Emmanuela Uwimbabazi was honored with Marriott International’s top award, presented annually to only 10 associates globally.
A well-deserved recognition of her commitment to excellence. Rwanda is proud of you. Congratulations, Emmanuela @KigaliMarriott
One of my greatest regrets from my time as US AsstSecState for Africa was advocating for US to support Tshisekedi as winner of Congo's 2018 election. I thought he would really be different and advance the Congolese people's interests. How wrong I was!

@nmukazayire@ferwabaRW@Rwanda_Sports In honor of his legacy, impact, and the lives he touched, I respectfully ask that you consider retiring Kenrik Kabano’s number #13. His contributions go far beyond the game and this would be a lasting tribute to his memory. Thank you.
My prayers are with Mahoro Peace Association today as they plan and participate in protests to stop the violence, lift the blockade, and protect Banyamulenge and Tutsi civilians in the eastern Democratic Republic of Congo.
God willing I will also do some writing this week on these matters
