@Debbiepaperman@AshleyGWinter You are welcome. Getting on the phone with a pelvic PT before you refer can be really helpful in knowing what their skill set is.
@AshleyGWinter Thanks for bringing to light the importance of pelvic PT. You can find pelvic PTs on https://t.co/DUbAQYQUwm. There is also great information in "The Musculoskeletal Mystery: How to solve your pelvic floor symptoms" that explains the MSK system, diagnosis and everything pelvic PT
@PadmaPande Musculoskeletal Assessment of the PF is a must for practitioners and that is why as a PT I teach it to MD, PA and NP. My book "The Musculoskeletal Mystery: How to solve your pelvic floor symptoms " explains it to all.
@MC98144@AshleyGWinter This could also be pelvic floor issues and a referral to pelvic PT could change her life. Pelvic floor muscle dysfunction can mimic or worsen UTI symptoms.
@MenoScandal Please consider talking about how pelvic PT can help with many of the symptoms of menopause. I am a pelvic PT and have seen how much pelvic PT can change lives. I would be happy to discuss! Please see my book "The Musculoskeletal Mystery:How to solve your pelvic floor symptoms".
@dukeobgyn@DukeHealth Thank you Dr Ford. Fantastic information for patients.Tight pelvic floor muscles are a big issue. A musculoskeletal exam to find if the PF is overactive or tight is vital. Physical therapy can significantly improve tightness and allow someone to comfortably have an IUD insertion
@mkgeisinger I am sure her pelvic floor wasn't even considered. As a pelvic floor PT I have seen so many patients with "hip bursitis " and it is actually a pelvic floor/ obturator internis issue!
