@lemire With -march=native added the performance might be similar, at least it is on my machine (Laptop with AMD Ryzen AI 5 340).
Also, do note that GCC *is* able to vectorize pessimistic/early-return loops since GCC 15 (https://t.co/OlwPCOOlSc), you just need a sufficient -march arg.
