It’s not right that people can't afford the basics because their benefit payments are reduced to repay government debts. @theresecoffey please pause these deductions this winter. To build a #HungerFreeFuture, our welfare system must offer better security & support. @TrussellTrust
Try again with the right link this time (thanks @dan_po)
Tideswell Players is celebrating its 90th anniversary by enabling people in lockdown to watch one of its performances online. You might recognise the person in the beige cardigan in the photo...

.@HSBC holds nearly £100 million shares in @CaterpillarInc, whose bulldozers are armoured and used by Israel to destroy Palestinian homes, factories and agricultural land. HSBC must divest now! #HSBC#HSBCAGM20
Thank you to @England_Rob_ and @BBCNews for giving me the opportunity to tell a little bit of my story as a widow during the lockdown, and to help to say happy birthday to @RevRichardColes. https://t.co/YTu6ihOgwf @WidowedAndYoung
Tis the year's midnight, and it is the day's,
Lucy's, who scarce seven hours herself unmasks;
The sun is spent, and now his flasks
Send forth light squibs, no constant rays;
The world's whole sap is sunk...
Advent candles lit. This year more than ever: come, Lord Jesus.
You're either for equality or not @Airbnb@bchesky. You announced a delisting of illegal Israeli settlement rentals and have now back-pedalled, allowing rentals on the ruins of Palestinian lives and land. #deactivateAirbnb
Palestinian human rights groups call on like-minded humanitarian NGOs to reject funds from @Airbnb. Airbnb announced they would donate fees from rentals in the occupied West Bank. This is dirty money from #stolenhomes#deactivateAirbnb
Palestinians can't return to stolen land that Airbnb allows settlers to rent out. Join us in telling Airbnb that they are renting out #stolenhomes. @Airbnb enables continuing Nakba. @bchesky#deactivateAirbnb
I am delighted to announce that Peak Volumes is getting a new home with the wonderful Juliet Waugh in the building that was Tideswell's NatWest Bank. It's bittersweet, but is a new beginning for Madeira House, and I am so happy that Tim Dudley's book legacy will live on. Suzanne
I like the fact that a century or so ago the statues chosen to flank the high altar in Tideswell Parish Church were St Peter and St Mary Magdalene: Apostle, and Apostle to the Apostles.
In common with pretty much every other even-mildly-Catholic woman, much love for Mary Magdalene. She's someone with such different & specific resonances for different people - a sinner redeemed, a sufferer healed, a woman commissioned - and I love that this holds those together.
Dear @AmberRuddHR, there are many reasons people need a #foodbank but today you said #UniversalCredit is “absolutely not” one of them. Evidence from @TrussellTrust shows it absolutely is. Will you correct your error? #5WeeksTooLong
