Once you become an air conditioning society, you don’t go back. You stop rolling down car windows. Houses become sealed boxes. People move from cooled home to cooled car to cooled office to cooled store. Society goes indoors. Outdoor life becomes diminished.
It changes more than temperature.
The end result of the class mobility process is simply to produce the Brooklyn "Artist."
That is the final and perfect upper class individual.
"I must study politics and war, that our sons may have liberty to study mathematics and philosophy. Our sons ought to study mathematics and philosophy, geography, natural history and naval architecture, navigation, commerce and agriculture in order to give their children a right to study painting, poetry, music, architecture, statuary, tapestry and porcelain.”
@deusimpera No, that’s what’s truly beautiful about Chinese culture. It’s a resilient relic of their civilization no matter what ideology they adopt.

From this we’ll probably see a rise in much more cautious / conservative behavior from women, and men who want to signal their morality. I wonder what universities will look like in a decade
One of the biggest externalities of inaction re: the files is that many young (or old) men will see how inconsequential assault on women is, and gender-based violation/violence will increase. Women’s safety in the US, especially for the young, will be more shaky to say the least
@MenchOsint His countrymen really love him so much. People are saying there are strict laws on monarchy speech, but they’re not really enforced. So those feelings are from the heart, and one can only be jealous of the human capacity to hold so much grace for an absent and inactive leader
@ItIsHoeMath People believe in the truth of something so much that they want to spread it to every culture. Many Christians who actually believe feel the same way. Or should they be like another certain minority group who only want righteousness for themselves but not for others?
If they’re making standing planes, when will it be time to make multi-stop plane rides? Not layovers, but stops at interim cities the same way trains work.
@clockstiqqun Conspiracism was them hosting the pre-game, we gradually got used to talking about it more and more openly until it tamed our response to actual reality.
@pqapka@fath0039 One of the few societies on Earth that prioritizes love for country over ambition for power. Which also makes them easily subject to rule by exploitative leaders, but at least we can say they nailed DEI
@fath0039 If you look for problems then you will find them. The problems in the Levant don’t need to be looked for — they manifest as violence, shifting alliances, and broken states. There is much to criticize about Egypt but this is not even close to being part of it.
This is a perfect illustration of how faith in God is increasingly lost to the modern age & what superficially looks like a revival like of previous eras is in reality a yet more advanced stage of the disease of secularism, where religion is not reality but a marker of nation.
