🎓Congratulations to the students of the University of Tourism, Technology and Business Studies (UTB) on your graduation! 🎉 As you embark on this transitional chapter in your lives, I want to offer some advice that I believe will greatly benefit you. This is from my own experience. I was sent to normal schools like most of us here, so after graduation, I faced several issues including a language barrier while transitioning from French to English. Determined to succeed, I immersed myself in English programs, watched the news, watched YouTube videos, and practiced with friends with a purpose. Today, I proudly speak English proficiently. My journey proves that investing in learning and breaking barriers can pave the way to success. Embrace the challenge and let it propel you to new heights!

Dear graduates,

Now is the ideal time to enhance your communication skills. Since many of you are pursuing careers in the hospitality industry, being proficient in multiple languages can significantly expand your opportunities. It will enable you to connect with a broader range of customers, establish meaningful relationships, and provide exceptional service. Take advantage of the various language-learning resources available online or consider joining language exchange programs to improve your fluency.

Additionally, given the current job market scenario with limited vacant positions, I encourage you to explore entrepreneurship. Consider creating your own small business. Identify niche or unmet market needs and develop an innovative solution. By becoming entrepreneurs, you'll not only create opportunities for yourselves but also contribute to the economic growth of your community. Remember, with determination and creativity, even minor business ventures can flourish.

Another valuable piece of advice is to proactively seek solutions to your own problems instead of relying solely on others for help. Embracing a proactive mindset empowers you to take charge of your own destiny. Cultivate a resourceful and problem-solving attitude that will enable you to overcome obstacles and pave your own path to success. Remember, the responsibility to shape your future lies in your hands, and the determination to find solutions will set you apart.

Lastly, one of the advantages you have is the support of the Government of Rwanda. Take advantage of the various programs, grants, and resources available to support aspiring entrepreneurs and professionals like yourselves.
