Dear Innovate friends, supporters, and collaborators,
As the world has witnessed the devastation that the Los Angeles fires have caused for so many people and communities in the L.A. metropolitan area, we at Innovate express our sadness and commitment to rebuilding. Innovate has been a part of the Los Angeles community for six years, and many of our volunteer parent leaders, staff, and board members are based in this great city.
Innovate will contribute to recovery efforts to support our organizing work in the coming weeks – working alongside our coalition partners, families, and stakeholders.
Innovate is a proud member of the Los Angeles community, serving its people, communities, schools, and institutions. We know that the impacts of this natural disaster will extend beyond the loss of property. Indeed, peoples’ jobs, housing, and education have all been – and will continue to be – impacted.
Below are some resources for those who most need them:
@RedCross: Visit https://t.co/PEUZ4ivGlt to find safe places nearby
@watchdutyapp - download the app for real-time fire information
LA Fire Department (@LACoFDPIO) - for up-to-date info and alerts.
An essential part of our organizing model is the power of relationships. We encourage everyone to stay safe as fire danger continues and to continue showing up for one another, especially for those most affected.
