@graceb_art@The_Real_Fly First, they went after the illegal immigrants, and I said nothing because I was not an illegal
Second, they went after the violent criminals, and I said nothing because I wasn't a violent criminal
Third, they went after the homeless, and I said nothing because I was not homeless
Last year 4 SEC and 4 ACC teams made the College Baseball World Series.
This year, after the first round (regionals), only 4 or 13 SEC teams are left. 5 of 9 ACC teams.
2 SEC teams play each other in supers, so the SEC will not repeat its feat of 4 teams in the MCWS.
Erosion is also seen near (i.e., to the north of) Tigertail Beach on Marco Island. Failed restoration is seen (particularly in the far northern part) after the 2023 image (actual restoration was spring 2023).
Imagery from 2019-2025 (every January) shows erosion steadily progressing near the southern tip of Keewaydin Island #Collier#FL due to Hurricanes Eta (2020), Ian (2022), Idalia (2023), Helene and Milton (2024), which all passed varying degrees to the north.
Clearer progression of erosion is seen a bit farther south nearer Marco Island. Island on far left/west is Sea Oat Island which has now connected to the island to the east. Still 2019-2025.
Newly complete NHC reports on Helene and Milton indicate that storm surge was only about 1 foot higher from Marco Island to Venice during Milton vs Helene. This despite the much closer track of Milton.
Farther north, Longboat Key storm surge was less during Milton (~5' vs 7').
Venice had the highest recorded storm surge during Milton at ~7' (near fishing pier) with high water mark (wave action + surge) amounts up to 10' on Manasota Key.
Highest recorded surge during Helene was ~15' near Keaton Beach, with a high water mark of ~18' near Steinhatchee.
