Alhamdulillah, malam ini saya berasa amat bersyukur dan rendah hati menerima pengiktirafan sebagai Honorary Bencher daripada Inns of Court Malaysia sempena Majlis Makan Malam Gala Ulang Tahun Ke-10 institusi berprestij ini.

Pengiktirafan ini bukan sekadar satu penghormatan peribadi, tetapi sebagai satu amanah untuk saya terus menyumbang kepada usaha memperkukuh sistem perundangan, keadilan dan tadbir urus negara.

Setinggi-tinggi penghargaan saya ucapkan kepada Presiden, Jawatankuasa Eksekutif serta seluruh warga Inns of Court Malaysia (ICM) atas kepercayaan dan penghormatan yang diberikan.

Majlis pada malam ini diserikan dengan kehadiran Tuan Yang Terutama Yang Dipertua Negeri Sarawak, Tun Pehin Sri Dr. Haji Wan Junaidi bin Tuanku Jaafar, dan isteri, Toh Puan Datuk Patinggi Fauziah binti Mohd Sanusi.

Sepanjang sedekad penubuhannya, ICM telah memainkan peranan penting dalam memupuk kecemerlangan profesion guaman, memperkukuh etika profesional, memperluaskan pendidikan undang-undang dan menjunjung tinggi kedaulatan undang-undang di Malaysia.

Undang-undang bukan sekadar himpunan akta atau peraturan, tetapi merupakan asas kepada keadilan, kestabilan, kemajuan dan keharmonian sesebuah negara. Kepercayaan rakyat terhadap institusi keadilan hanya dapat diperkukuhkan apabila undang-undang dilaksanakan secara adil, telus dan tanpa rasa takut atau pilih kasih.

Saya turut berkongsi pandangan mengenai perubahan landskap dunia perundangan yang dipacu oleh kecerdasan buatan (AI), pendigitalan, keselamatan siber dan teknologi baharu. AI mampu menjadi pemangkin kepada kecekapan dan akses kepada keadilan, namun kebijaksanaan, integriti dan tanggungjawab moral tetap menjadi amanah yang tidak boleh digantikan oleh teknologi.

Saya percaya Malaysia akan terus maju sebagai sebuah negara yang aman, makmur dan dihormati sekiranya kita terus mempertahankan kebebasan institusi, memperkukuh pendidikan undang-undang, mengangkat profesionalisme serta sentiasa menjunjung kedaulatan undang-undang sebagai asas pentadbiran negara.

Semoga kita semua terus berganding bahu membina institusi yang lebih kukuh, mempertahankan prinsip keadilan dan meninggalkan legasi yang memberi manfaat kepada generasi akan datang.
