New Yorkers voted for a radical socialist communist Muslim mayor from Africa who only obtained citizenship 7 years ago.
Now they complain that the city is turning into an Islamic hell.
Question @fpleitgenCNN What about the videos of people inside Iran cheering when they learned of Larijani’s elimination? The scores of Iranians who took to their balconies to celebrate his death?
What about the families whose children were killed by the regime on January 8–9 — like Parviz Afshari, whose 17-year-old son Sam was finished off in a hospital after being shot during protests, killed while a breathing tube was still in his mouth?
Where is their perspective? Where is their voice?
I’m asking this sincerely — now that you’re no longer reporting from inside Iran under the constraints you once faced.
Because as an Iranian, that’s the Iran I know. Those are the people I know.
Not the small minority — the 10–15 percent — who support the regime.
If the regime were truly supported, why would it need to kill those who rise up?
Three people were executed today. Among them, a teenage champion wrestler—hanged to death.
Where is their voice? Where is their perspective?
@fpleitgenCNN I hope you understand that as an Iranian, it pains me to see propaganda. But it’s even harder to watch Western media echo it or applaud it.
In 2012 Nicholas Kristof took his kids on a road trip across Iran, along a route set by the Iranian regime. Then he wrote columns about it whitewashing the regime. Now he's praising Larijani, who threatened to murder President Trump, as "strong and pragmatic leader."
