I work security at a children's hospital. Night shift. Quiet halls mostly. Found a dad sleeping in his car. Parking lot. Middle of winter. Knocked on the window. "Sir, you okay?" He woke up. Freezing. Shaking. "My son. ICU. Been here six weeks. Leukemia. I stay close in case..." "Why aren't you inside?" "They kick families out at midnight. Visiting hours. But I can't go home. What if he needs me?"
After a long battle with depression, 10-year-old Liberty Hall tragically took her own life in 2025.
She left behind this note for her mother, apologizing, and asking her not to blame herself.
18 months I was transferred up a PICU. I have spent the last 4 months of that time on a MSK ward following a suicide attempt that left me with countless broken bones and life changing nerve damage.
Today I say goodbye to the team here. After everything they have done for me, it’s been an emotional day. I cannot thank them enough. They have picked me up on my lowest of days and shown me that life is worth living. Everyone on this ward has become family to me, we have laughed and cried on equal measures but they’ve been with me through everything.
I also said goodbye to my major trauma key workers R and J. R was my clinical lead whilst in resus. My injuries were so severe that the air ambulance cared for me. I was rushed into resus not knowing if I’d survive. R kept me calm at all points. I don’t remember much but I do remember her holding my hand as I was taken round to CT before my parents arrived. It was the reassurance I needed during the scariest thing I’ve ever been through.
Now I’m leaving this horrific chapter of my life as I move on to rehab. It is my chance to overcome this horrific PTSD that riddles through my mind every moment of every day. I am so determined to make the most of this opportunity and learn to live again.
I have to navigate life as s as wheelchair user. I have to learn to live with a catheter and to lean on others to do the most basic of things.
It is going to be a challenging journey both physically and psychological. However, I’m ready!
Thank you for all your support.
Tomorrow I travel 4.5 hours away from my home city to start a new life.
It is time to get back to being the best and happiest version of me
Mental illness and suicide is still being criminalised as we saw once again tragically this week. Cameron Edwards killed himself on the same day as appearing in court in relation to a previous suicide attempt. RIP Cameron. Please attend 👇event to honour @StopSIMMH and hear more.
Trigger warning - sexual assault from staff
Why am I hearing about both a psychiatrist and a psychologist only getting 12 months suspensions for having sex with a patient?
Domestic violence increases by 26% when the England football team wins or draws and 38% when they lose.
Watching the way this city fan celebrated his team scoring last night leaves me cold. I love football, but we've got to do something about this.
You’re sat on bus. On the other side of the bus you hear a women having a conversation over speakerphone loud enough to hear despite being not close to her
It’s apparent she’s a nurse & the convo is about a patient & some things she says *may* be identifiable
What do you do?
Rest in Peace buddy 💔
The most beautiful soul, the most compassionate person you’ll ever know.
Ahmed Ismail @AJ_Looped was filling the water containers when the Israeli artillery opened fire on his house and the neighborhood.
I’ve been thinking about this babe on TikTok who said she knew it was time to end things with her boyfriend because he said/did something and she thought ‘my future husband wouldn’t say that to me, wouldn’t speak to me like that, that’s not the love story I want to tell my kids’.
Just got invited to a wedding in January…they asked me to try not to look pregnant because I’ll take attention
Being as I’ll be 7 months pregnant I declined the invite
(Don’t even know why I was invited in the first place).
Writing a dissertation that heavily critiqued suicide prevention efforts & theorized the desire to die as a queer desire, I didn't think many people would be onboard.
BUT, I just received Dissertation of the Year awards from 2 NCA divisions: GLBTQ & Critical Cultural Studies. 🎉
