Late on sharing this, but my first postdoc paper is online in Toxicology and Applied Pharmacology! 🥳
Here we examined the mechanism by which the chemical threat agent TETS causes seizures using #zebrafish

@aandr314 YES! 😂 everyone just use what works best for their situation- for me every situation where I've had the option to use matlab I could translate the code into R faster than the time it would take to fight compatibility issues 🤷🏼♀️
Thinking of leaving Twitter? Us, too. That’s why we’ve set up a Slack group for the #zebrafish community with over 200 members so far (including 60+ PIs)! If you’d like to join, please send @ZebrafishRock a DM 🙏 #RockOn
@SamLMontano She says she felt awful afterwards because all she could think about in the moment was being in pain (she fell to the ground from being shot at) and not saving the hypothetical kids (at least they weren't in the classroom!)
@DrMattBenton@KuglerElisabeth@noa_ottilie Let me know if you get your hands on a good protocol- been searching for this too (fish line made in a gene trap long ago, insertion site was never mapped)
📡 Big day today!
Our first #singlecell RNAseq dataset is now live on #Zebrahub: 10 #zebrafish developmental stages, 40 individual embryos, ~120'000 cells. Dataset spans end-of-gastrulation to 10-day larvae.

@aandr314@ZebrafishRock I've thought about this! Not only for purchasing equipment but all the funny little tips like "you can use a cat whisker to gently move larvae around for imaging" that maybe aren't formally written down but passed down in training in individual labs
Hey #zebrafish PIs! When setting up your facility, did you purchase a dishwasher for sanitizing tanks? If so, what kind?? High temp restaurant, labware, normal home dishwasher with a sanitizing cycle? Does it matter as long as it hits a high temp?? #askzebrafish@ZebrafishRock
Hi #frog and #fish folks! We have some researchers here that are trying to grow #DeltaSmelt and are struggling to get them to eat at larval stages. They have tried rotifers- but these fish are super tiny even at 10-11 days post hatch and don’t eat enough. Any suggestions? 🙏🏽🐟
@RogersLabUCD@sgraingerPhD I was going to suggest- the Lein lab has tons of Gemma micro that could be small enough for the smelt babies. Ask Pam and she'll get you in touch with Alicia or Anthony :)
