I had an amazing visit to @OttawaHospital Research Institute to talk about the work in our lab and chat with the phenomenal scientists doing such cool work. So many ideas to bring back to my lab. I also enjoyed my first trip to Ottawa! ๐คฉ
A timely reminder that @DSHB_antibodies exists: a non-profit selling validated antibodies at $50/mL of supernatant. Our validation images show what's actually on the blot. No sleuths required. https://t.co/WfeQ2Pn32I #AntibodiesForResearch
Please check out my interview on the Out of Patients Podcast with Oliver Bogler. We chatted about the hidden curriculum and my experience starting @ucdavis, feeling like I was failing, and being supported by Life Science Editors Foundation. https://t.co/XgRzmbNf1A
Did you know that @intlsocdiff is offering travel awards up to $1000 for non ISD meetings in 2026? If you have an accepted abstract to present at a meeting- please apply! Membership fee for students is $0 and only $50 for regular members! https://t.co/XLhIjJVZLp
Our new collaborative work with @SaraThomasy, led by Raneesh Ramarapu, uses 3D imaging + quantitative analysis to show how the corneal endothelium organizes under growth and mechanical strain. Please check out the preprint! https://t.co/AcxQRLkB3z
Oofโฆ. Ectodermal cells make the brain and spinal cord in addition to the skin and peripheral nervous systems. These are the cell types my lab studies. Arguably a really important embryonic tissue. Please protect yourself and your baby if you are pregnant. ๐ท

"This study gives us a clearer picture of how SARS-CoV-2 can interact with human cells at the earliest stages of life"

Our lab is expanding and hiring both a postdoc and staff scientist! We study how metabolism and cell cycle states drive tumor progression, therapy response, and immune interactions. Philly is a great place to live and do research! See more at: https://t.co/Qptg5QHh66.
Pew Latin American Fellows Program: remarkable opportunity for Latin America researchers to pursue postdoctoral training in the US.โก๏ธIf you consider applying, Iโd be glad to explore if I could serve as a sponsor. @Harraz_Lab

To all scientists immigrants: This is an amazing opportunity. The Vilcek family is super generous and has rewarded many immigrant scientists including Nobel Laureate @kkariko. Hope everyone eligible applies !
@brandimwynne Thank you. It happened when I was in graduate school and it was so fast I didnโt have a chance to fly home and say goodbye. He had 5 children at the time- all devastated by the loss. This new treatment is amazing. I hope we see more of it!
My uncle was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer and he died within a month of his diagnosis. It would have made such a difference our family to have had extra time. Our government should be supporting research and life saving discoveries like this instead of defunding it.
Pancreatic cancer mRNA vaccine shows lasting results in an early trial. Scientists caution that more research is needed, but nearly all of the patients who responded to the personalized vaccine are still alive six years later.
