Ado Odo Ota and the Yewa Aworis have historically been marginalised by successive governments in Ogun State, despite being the senatorial district that contributes the largest share of the state's revenue, mainly through agriculture, traditional industries, and mineral resources.

Lado, a governorship aspirant, sought an endorsement from the Palace of the Olota of Ota. He was aware that the Olota had already endorsed a candidate, his own kinsman, a sitting senator representing Ogun West who is actively working to transform the socio-economic landscape of Yewa Awori from enduring hardship to regional prosperity, leveraging his influence to attract development projects.

During the consultation, the King candidly advised Ladi Adebutu that running for governor is his right but he can not endorsed him because this is the time for the Yewa Awori. The more straightforward path to influence for Ladi was to contest the senatorial seat. Ladi, however, prefers not to seek the Senate seat, even though it is the easiest path for him politically.

The present governor is Ladi's brother and relative.
No one must undermine the Yewa/Awori people’s political and developmental agenda.

Ladi still has the option to run for the Senate seat representing Ogun East. To do so, he must persuade his party to replace the current candidate for that seat.

The Bureau of Public Procurement (BPP) Director-General, Dr. Adebowale A. Adedokun, FCIPS, has been honoured with the Blueprint Public Procurement Reformer Award 2025 by Blueprint Newspaper for his transformative leadership, institutional reforms, and commitment to transparency, accountability, and safeguarding public funds.

The award was presented during the 8th Blueprint Public Lecture, Impact Series and Awards held on August 18, 2026, in Abuja, with the theme “Security Challenges and the Integrity of Nigeria’s 2027 Elections.”

Dr. Adedokun dedicated the award to Nigerians committed to national development and the hardworking staff of the BPP. He also expressed appreciation to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for his commitment to national transformation.

The event featured prominent government officials and national leaders who stressed the importance of security, credible institutions, responsible media, national unity, and collective responsibility in ensuring peaceful and credible 2027 elections.

Other distinguished recipients of the Blueprint Impact Awards included the CBN Governor Olayemi Cardoso, Zenith Bank GMD/CEO Adaora Umeoji, and Governors Ahmed Aliyu, Dauda Lawal and Peter Mbah, among others.
