What I loved about Belize:

Can use US Dollars interchangeably with the local currency at a 2:1 ratio.
95% of the people I met spoke English.
Power outlets are the same as US 110V.
Credit cards (including AMEX) were widely accepted.
Prices were reasonable.
Residency is available for a bank deposit of $20k and $2k in income.
Island living is affordable.
Cell service was widely available on the islands I visited.
Food quality greatly surpassed the quality I find in the US. Nothing I ate upset my stomach.
