An engineer is whinning on twitter FOR HOURS about how perfect world should look like. And when you ask what YOU can actually do - "I should not need to", "I don't have to", "I have lots of projects (but instead I chose to spam on twitter)". This entire discussion is retarded.
And before you ask "but did you raise an issue to get this fixed?", yes I did, and I should not need to. Open Source Software development has made people think you should treat your users as the testers, rather than actually be an engineer and try and cover most issues before the users even touch it. This is how pretty much any other non-software industry works, why the heck do we think we should test it on users who are not explicitly testers?!
@TheGingerBill@icpolicy@cianlus@karl_zylinski I get you. But you also have "pink glasses" - nothing in this world works as expected, so seriously expecting to have something like that by just writting about it on twitter is kind of... Cute (:
@TheGingerBill@icpolicy@cianlus@karl_zylinski "we're doing good - nothing to fix, we'll keep moving in same direction and the company will have income from that." That's where the community can affect the situation without praying for a good samaritan who would act in every person's interest using only his free will
@TheGingerBill@icpolicy@cianlus@karl_zylinski Ideally, yes. Ideally, you would install like debian and the audio would work. In practice, one random person wouldn't be able to do this. In practice, someone like Canonical opens their Jira and see no reports from users and say...
@TheGingerBill@icpolicy@cianlus@karl_zylinski No, I meant something else. People should switch to the linux distro and DOS the support with tickets, making them reprioritize their work while being loud about it so that others in the community will switch too and do the same (Im exaggerating, but that’s the whole process)
@TheGingerBill@icpolicy@cianlus@karl_zylinski Either that, or 4-5 bad mofos with a lot of passion, which HH community has. No-one looks at this whole distro situation seriously because nothing except twitter dramas happens
@TheGingerBill@icpolicy@cianlus@karl_zylinski You won’t reduce it, period. All you can do, and it works perfectly as practice says, is to move an entire community to some distro and motivate people around you to do the same. Take mollies, HH or etc and switch to idk ArchLinux - every single member switches and it is the push
@TheGingerBill@icpolicy@cianlus@karl_zylinski My complaint here is that people discuss serious problems like this on twitter and then do absolutely nothing else to solve the issue. Even creating a support ticket is not enough in current circumstances
@TheGingerBill@icpolicy@cianlus@karl_zylinski You make software for the living, but you still don’t know that the world is built by idiots? In order for ANYTHING to work you have to be a bone in someone’s throat, whether it’s a product support or some kind of municipal services or etc. Crying on twitter doesn’t work as u see
It is a matter of opinion whether it was a deliberate attempt at weakening Ukraine. Communists in North Korea, in China and in Vietnam engaged in similar policies. Also, Russia itself suffered disastrously under Soviet rule.
Importantly, Western intellectuals mostly kept silent regarding the Holodomor. It was not denounced.
