@RogersHistory I feel is a genuine reflection of the commitment of so many teachers who treat their role as a vocation and often remain unsung heroes. My condolences to the family.
@Headteacherchat At this stage I’d ignore the ‘tittle tattle’. Be your authentic self. Stay true to your values and tackle situations as you deem to be appropriate. Hold you staff to account to honour teaching standards and the ethos of the school. When they don’t, address this head on.
@debrakidd I’ve a drama degree and my parents thought all I’d be able to do was act…I’ve had a great career so far. So many fabulous adventures and exciting opportunities have opened up - never a day out of work (apart from the pandemic!)
@debrakidd I’ve seen this modelled. Soul destroying. Pedagogy is an art form - a creative craft, and teachers ought to be supported to nurture that craft and have the creative tools to respond to the needs of the community in their classroom. A collegiate human exchange - not formulaic!
