@TechnicalBben Spot on. This is the reason e-commerce model works so well, if you do an ads for multiple products you get lesser sales compared to if you pick just a product.
On the first Saturday of August 2026, which also happens to be the first day of the month,
I’m putting together an event for 40 marketers across various disciplines.
This one is for my Lagos people.
When people hear events they roll their eyes because it’s always business as usual, a popular person is a key note speaker or there’s a panel and they discuss what they feel the audience wants to hear.
Event attendees always leave unsatisfied.
We are flipping this entire model on its head.
For 2 to 3 hours, you’ll be in a room with multiple marketers where we will tackle those questions that you’ve had.
For example if your boss is not approving your budgets or your channels are not printing the revenue you want, these are the kinds of answers you will find here.
Is digital products the way for marketers to make more money or what’s the latest for marketing people? Conversations like these will be had here.
One major house rule is that what is said at the marketers round table doesn’t leave that room.
Some people may call it therapy for marketing people and they would not be wrong.
There’ll be food, drinks and potential collaborations.
Tickets are live right now, it’s 30,000 NAIRA and selling really fast.
If you’ve been at similar style of events, we are taking this one up a a notch.
See you at the Marketers Roundtable
This event is powered by @tryselar and other amazing partners.

all jokes aside, i think one of the best things that can happen to you as a young person is figuring out what you truly want to do with your life early on and being in an environment that doesn't hinder it from happening
@CandleyV So twins have more right to stay together than other siblings that are not twins? Siblings should not be separated, period! But then the system is not usually so favorable and adoptive agencies do their best with an already bad situation
There’s a 2 year old kid among the children kidnapped in Oyo state.
There are about (8) 4 years old kids & about (10) 5 years old kids.
This is failure. Huge leadership failure!!!
I don’t have the courage to look at that picture of him in tears one more time. He did nothing to deserve death. I’m tired of making just another post. I’m tired of crying. I’m tired!!!! I don’t even know what to type. I’m just weak and tired 😭😭😭😭
The fraud (get-rich-quick) culture in Nigeria isn’t just a bad habit. It’s a worldview, and it’s actively destroying the careers of people who actually have real skills.
I see it in my DMs constantly. Someone with genuine writing ability, design skill, or technical knowledge, spending months chasing the next shortcut instead of building something with legs.
A new scheme drops and they pivot. Another one surfaces and they pivot again. Six months later, they’re back at zero, more cynical than before.
What frustrates me most about it is that it’s not even laziness. These are hardworking people. They’re genuinely grinding. They’re putting in hours.
But they’re grinding in the wrong direction, pointed at the wrong thing, because the culture around them has told them that the legitimate path is for people with connections or foreign accounts.
That lie is expensive.
The freelancing market doesn’t care where you’re from as much as it cares whether you can solve a specific problem for a specific client. That’s it.
But you have to actually show up for it, with a real profile, real proposals, real positioning.
Not that copy-paste template you downloaded from a Telegram group. Not a fake portfolio. Not a profile built on inflated credentials. And definitely not a half-baked foreign profile you bought.
I took the slow road. Five years of it. Early on, I was taking gigs that paid embarrassingly little. Working with clients I wouldn’t think twice about now. Building reviews one at a time, learning the system, staying when it wasn’t moving.
It wasn’t patient by nature. It was patient by necessity. Because every shortcut I tried before that didn’t work.
The fraud culture sells speed. The real road sells compounding. They don’t deliver at the same time, but only one of them actually delivers.
If you’ve been pulled toward the shortcut before, I get it. The environment makes it feel like the only option.
But I’m proof it’s not. And there are a lot of us out there.
