Continuous engagement with departments that provide direct services to citizens remains essential in strengthening policy oversight and ensuring efficient service delivery.
This morning, I held a strategic consultative meeting with the leadership of the State Department for Immigration and Citizen Services, led by Principal Secretary Dr. Belio Kipsang, together with Heads of Directorates, at Nyayo House, Nairobi. The meeting reviewed progress made on key deliverables agreed upon during our previous engagements.
The Department has recorded notable achievements in enhancing service delivery. Among the key milestones is the continued decentralisation of passport issuance services, with plans underway to expand physical passport application and collection centres to Kilifi County, in addition to the counties already served.
In response to issues raised during the Jukwaa la Usalama engagements, Kenyans can now download and print birth certificates online, a significant step towards improving accessibility and reducing the time required to obtain essential documents.
Further progress has been made in strengthening e-Citizen services, streamlining access to government services through digital platforms, and enhancing service efficiency. The Department is also undertaking measures to equip and strengthen consular services to better serve Kenyans living and working abroad.
As we begin the new Financial Year, we remain committed to supporting reforms and innovations that enhance service delivery, improve citizen experience, and ensure government services are accessible, efficient, and responsive to the needs of all Kenyans.
On this Fathers' Day, we honour the fathers who carry life's heaviest burdens with strength, unwavering commitment and selfless love.
Many bear sacrifices and responsibilities that often go unseen, leaving marks known only to them.
We thank all fathers and father figures for their steadfast dedication to their families, communities and our nation.
Your sacrifice, guidance and service continue to shape a responsible, safer and more prosperous society.
Happy Fathers' Day!
To our officers and fathers across Kenya, thank you for your unwavering dedication, guidance, and commitment to building a safer and stronger future for generations to come. Happy Father's Day!
This Father's Day, we celebrate the first protectors many of us ever knew: our fathers, guardians, and mentors.
Many of us grew up hearing:
"Funga mlango vizuri."
"Usitembee peke yako usiku."
"Usimwambie kila mtu mambo ya nyumbani."
"Weka simu yako salama."
At the time, they sounded like ordinary reminders.
Today, we recognize them for what they were: acts of care, protection, and love.
As we honour fathers and father figures across the country, we celebrate the values they instilled in us and the role they continue to play in building safer families and communities.
Happy Father's Day to all fathers, guardians, and mentors.

Speaking at the 2026 Humanitarian Affairs Segment (HAS) at the UN headquarters, the Secretary for National Administration, Moses Lilan, implored the world community to rethink how it responds to humanitarian crises.
“Kenya calls for prioritisation of locally led responses that build resilience by scaling up anticipatory action, climate adaptation, and livelihood programmes to address root causes,” Mr Lilan told the three-day meeting, which brought together member states, UN agencies, and humanitarian partners.
Kenya currently hosts more than 800,000 refugees, one of the largest refugee populations in Africa, placing considerable pressure on host communities, particularly in arid regions.

“Non-violence is a powerful and just weapon. It is a weapon unique in history, which cuts without wounding and ennobles those who wield it.”
