@SkoomaBoofer It's a trope that goes back ~2k years. The Gnostics believed we are born into a evil broken world controlled by malevolent forces (the demiurge) that we must seek to escape by discovering secret hidden knowledge (gnosis). The Matrix and the Truman Show are other recent examples.
@kunley_drukpa Flew into Zagreb when I visited Croatia last year. Taxi driver from the airport (first person I'd met there, Bosnian Gypsy) told me never to order from Wolt/Deliveroo because the Pakistani drivers were "dirty dirty people". Never heard anyone in UK say something like that.
@qikipedia That's what happens when you put an entire country on house arrest for 2 years. Immune systems weaken when they're not exposed to anything (including in dogs). Lockdowns caused this.
Twitter suppressed true information from doctors and public-health experts that was at odds with U.S. government policy.
This is a story, by @davidzweig, that impacted every American...whether or not they have ever logged onto Twitter.

@yogscast@jinglejam@YogscastLewis I didn't donate this year because you chose to support Mermaids, an organisation that preys on and abuses vulnerable children. Absolutely appalling, shame on you all.
@therealeatwood People have suggested that Twitter create a special sarcasm font so we can all recognize it as such. And let me tell you, I don't think that's a very good idea at all. No, I don't.
