As developers we need more freedom. Freedom to make decisions, and freedom to make mistakes. Not just free drinks and breakfast as perks.

Hi, I’m a senior engineer. You might know me from my greatest hits “but *why* is it null?” “There is greater honor in deleting code than in writing more” And the chart-topping “let’s just walk over to them and ask”

@ByrneFarragher So what's happening here in our case is on this pages we have whole bunch of messages being exchanged between client and server...client logs some info after processing msg. So developer on client side has look into browser logs and server logs to verify which is pain.
Anyone has tried passing client side logs to server and merging it with server logs. Just to get it all in one place #Developer
We are trying that for few pages where we have state on client side.
Why does video (skype/hangout) interviews are only a thing for remote jobs? Most hiring managers stick to using the phone ... cant figure why #hiring#devdiscuss#Developer
“Strong communication skills” - doesnt mean much in a resume. But if you can listen to or watch a video - everything changes... More companies should accept video resumes. #futureofwork#futureofhiring
@groyan@gerard_t_ Yeah, get your point. Thanks. I personally hate any process where the candidate is treated just as a commodity. So the challenge is to make it centric to the user. On the other hand - do you think it gives an opportunity to a developer to express better? Without the pressure
@noahsussman I would even send the interview questions in advance so that they are prepared, no surprises. Standard questions but you get to know a person better when they are not perplexed
