what i think i dislike most about sys spaces is that they tend to either be like "this is ruining my life and there's no hope for me" or "this is the best thing ever and never has any drawbacks" and neither work out well when you're a "been getting really into yogurt lately" sys
@motrsys The community built around CDDs is so volatile. It's like the whole 'perfect victim' thing but they want this perfect example of multiplicity. Literally every case is unique, key knowledge. But then they compare you to someone else 1-to-1 and get mad you're different anyway.😭
@motrsys Absolutely there is SO much misinformation out there. Sometimes the academic sources have it wrong which is even more frustrating. The stigma runs so deep. I wish people were just... critical of what they read... :']
its so hard for me to function or process anything in my life or maintain normal relationships with those around me and its impossible to communicate those difficulties because everyone just thinks DID is the alter disorder
@motrsys The best place to start is textbooks, they are designed for learning and will explain most things extremely simply. Then you want to graduate onto Review Papers that will summarize a lot of individual papers and give you more in depth information that researchers tend to agree on
@motrsys Kinda hijacking these replies with this thread I apologise. I hope someone gets some use out of the information on researching CDDs though lol :] they are very interesting!
@motrsys imo I don't believe non-disordered plurality can exist, but i do believe people can be unaware of the ways in which it is disordering their lives. Age especially being a huge factor, there are reasons they dont dx until adulthood for most cases.
