Finally some appreciation for this film! This film is indeed a cautionary tale of choosing to be a mistress. Hindi ito propaganda para piliin mo maging kabit, excuse me. Lol.

When I saw this movie (they uploaded it on YouTube a few years ago), I think I was shocked by how much grace they gave the mistresses. Lahat sila may full lives outside of the particular situation they were in, and as unlikeable as their characters seemed to be, they were also fleshed out enough for you to feel for them and to even like them.

Also, I did like that it was important to the story na may karapatan si Ambet to choose kung anong gusto niyang gawin and sinong gusto niyang makasama. I think a less empathetic writer would have made different choices to punish him and his partner for the affair. I thought it was a nice detail, na dapat may autonomy ka pa rin over your body and people still see you as a person kahit may karamdaman ka.

Interesting din siyang panoorin if you want to try your hand at writing unlikeable characters, lalo na female characters (Zsa Zsa Padilla's Sandra in Madrasta is also a character I would recommend people pay attention to pagdating sa ganito).

Actually, maganda rin siyang litmus test kung yung manonood may enough appreciation ng nuance and ng gray areas sa isang kwento.
