@ImposeCost When I’m in back to backs all day (thankfully not too often), sometimes that 5 minutes late is because I am quickly firing off an email/taking a note/delegating action items regarding said meeting so things can start/keep moving without my schedule being the bottleneck.
@ImposeCost This is why I happily get tied up in the nuance arguments of “False Positive” vs “Benign True Positive”.
Just because it was a red team doesn’t mean it is a false positive. The logic detected what it was supposed to (there is nuance here too but you get my point).
New analysts learning triage: Follow every thread you can.
If your note says “suspect that this could be XYZ” go find out how to find that in the logs.
Otherwise you leave analysis on the table.
@ImposeCost 100%. So many days I am amazed and humbled that my team still shows up every day with me at the helm. Especially during big changes and when I need to be hard on them.
I like taking up new hobbies or learning new skills. The second I start getting any kind of ego, learning something new is great at taking me down a few pegs. Plus it’s fun 😊
Stay humble.
@ImposeCost I tend to call it the “sleep at night test”. If I won’t be able to sleep at night knowing I did the best/right thing to the best of my ability with the knowledge I had at the time, then don’t do it.
