We told them Carrick was living off Amorim’s foundation, but they didn’t believe us. They argued “why didn’t Amorim succeed with the same foundation?” But I think I have an answer now. Amorim couldn’t build on that foundation because it wasn’t solid enough for the team he wanted, a team that would dominate games and win United titles hence the inconsistency and frustrations that came with his football. Now, Carrick is living off that same foundation, but it might break soon because Amorim hadn’t finished doing the groundwork. You’ll understand more next season when Carrick gets the job full time.
