Does anyone remember Loncon 3 academic presentations, from 2014? I went to one about imagined music of utopian societies, focussed on Iain M Banks Hydrogen Sonata. Looking for a list of presentations to track down the paper @Glasgowin2024 @AcademicLoncon3 #WorldCon

Dear @HumzaYousaf

On the 23rd Nov, we delivered #1000Paperboats #1000ClimateHopes to the @ScotParl collected from the people of Scotland. 129 MSPs invited to collect their messages, only 2 showed up.

Scotland wants urgent #ClimateActionNow. You will not silence us. #WeWillRise

[Karine Polwart @IAMKP]

Climate action scratch choir at Holyrood today with ⁦@paperboatswrite⁩ ⁦@stephendeazley⁩ ⁦@KathleenJamie⁩

Thanks to all who gave their time.

MSPs - of EVERY party - are you listening?

[Ongelique Conflenti @OConflentiRN]

So glad I was able to join @paperboat’s event at the Scottish Parliament building to advocate for #ClimateActionNow! Poetry by @KathleenJamie, speech by @MoogStuff, & songs from @IAMKP’s choir were beautiful ways to deliver a profound message of hope 🌎 #Nurses4PlanetaryHealth

@MoogStuff @ScotParl Another paperboat to join the river: Urban street trees give us shade, temperature regulation, flood resilience + sense of place. For our supporting wildlife ecosystem, they are also home, food, and freedom to thrive

These boats are made to wonder: sail away #1000paperboats

[Geonim @invisigen]

One of my paperboats that sailed this morning: Plant trees, nurture their growth, and cherish our mature woodlands

@trafficscotland #A85 at Lochawe was passable at 3.50, just about - was still deep though maybe 20cm

Hi @chengduworldcon I've been trying create an account for logging into your website for tickets (for online attendance). No link received, can you help?

[Geonim @invisigen]

@iCatCare Ginger marble and light ginger tabby

[Geonim @invisigen]

@ONS Can you provide a link to the tool itself? I would like to try it out, but I can't find it at the information page you've linked to

[International Cat Care @iCatCare]

💤 Cats sleep on average 15 hours a day
🌙 Naturally more active at dusk and dawn
🐈 Cats have adapted to be light sleepers and ready to flee at any moment
💭 Cats can dream! You may notice them chattering or twitching

Show us your cat enjoying #WorldSleepDay 📸

@ninadicara Tesco clubcard discounts are aggressively manipulative, I've almost caved but ended up shopping elsewhere

What bothers me about the data ethics of it is that Tesco could enable customers themselves to use the data, to help with budgeting and understanding our own consumer habits

“It takes about five times more electricity to heat a home with hydrogen than with an efficient heat pump,” - Jan Rosenow, Regulatory Assistance Project

Big caveat is efficient, I've heard varying opinions from hearing engineers about whether one could even work with our house

[New Scientist @newscientist]

A number of countries are hoping to replace natural gas heating systems with hydrogen as a way to reduce carbon emissions, but a review has found that it is not a viable solution https://t.co/Pb4tlWaWXr

Good news about proposed support for tenants' rights to rent with pets

[PDSA @PDSA_HQ]

#PetsAndLets! 🏡 Findings from our 2022 PAW Report show that 52% of UK adults own a pet. Despite this, only 7% of landlords advertised their property as suitable for #pets 😿

I had totally overlooked this protein potential

Frozen peas
- really cheap
- take 3 minutes on the hob
- small green balls look great on your plate & they're tasty too
* quite high in protein!
** extremely sustainable!!

I now feel completely justified in going all in

[Geonim @invisigen]

@smithmuseum Fantastic idea! Love the gardens, wonderful place for an event. Great day for it 🌞

[Geonim @invisigen]

Fascinating history here. I also loved the framing - delightful anecdotes of a holiday in Spain

[The Blindboy Podcast @bbboatclub]

New podcast. In 1966 the US military lost an unexploded nuclear bomb in a Spanish fishing village, this incident set off a chain of bizarre, decades long covert research in which the CIA concluded that reality was a Hologram. https://t.co/TdhQp9Mx4E

Similar to Schapps' massive exaggeration/truth gap about rail workers' pay #railstrike
https://t.co/RMc6sLSUhD

[BBC More or Less @BBCMoreOrLess]

Do striking UK rail workers earn £13,000 a year more than nurses, as some ministers have claimed? The More or Less team think the gap is much narrower #railstrikes https://t.co/5CyuxyBqtA

[Geonim @invisigen]

Govt giving statistics a bad name again, complete misrepresentation of the #barristerstrike

[The Secret Barrister 🦋 @BarristerSecret]

This is a lie.

81.5% voted for this action.

There is no “15% pay rise” on offer.

There is no “£7,000 more a year”.

Junior criminal barristers will remain on less than minimum wage.
