Philadelphia father of two. Mostly talking about PHP/Laravel/React on here. He/him.

My friend @jclermont launched a new testing course. Go check it out.

@OnAirMarc @haleyrdm Or just smart in the ways I want 😂

If you only remember one thing from this post it's this:

"It'll turn your codebase into an unmaintainable mess." Maybe that was true six months ago. Now? I'm not convinced it adds slop. And even if it does, I'm not convinced the result is unmaintainable.

Couldn't agree more with @thorstenball

[Chris Morrell @inxilpro]

@OnAirMarc @haleyrdm I like having a smartphone, honestly. I know old school flip phones are in fashion right now, but they’re not for me.

[Chris Morrell @inxilpro]

@haleyrdm Yeah, I would kill for 2015-era autocorrect again.

[Chris Morrell @inxilpro]

@denniskochdev It does! I'm trying it out now.

The thing that Dia doesn't have, that was *the* killer feature in Arc, was Air Traffic Control. Anyone know of a browser that handles routing to multiple profiles as well as Arc does?

[Chris Morrell @inxilpro]

@boggybot How many people do you think are doing exactly that right now?

[Chris Morrell @inxilpro]

@arcinternet Just adding my voice to the overwhelming majority of people who are disappointed in this news. I understand not wanting to support two browsers, but Dia is not a viable replacement for Arc in certain important ways (Air Traffic Control is a good example).

[Chris Morrell @inxilpro]

When you look at the replies to this, you'd be forgiven for thinking that maybe shutting down Arc was a bad idea…

What an absolute bummer.

[Arc @arcinternet]

We've decided to sunset Arc on December 22, 2026.

That's not an easy sentence to write. We spent years building Arc and celebrating each and every release along the way: we have so much pride and love for what we made alongside the Arc community.

Our priority is to deliver best-in-class security for our members. Keeping a browser secure takes constant, dedicated work that is only increasing in the age of AI. Dia was built from the ground up to meet today’s security standards, so that's where our engineering and security teams will focus moving forward.

We've worked to make switching to @diabrowser as easy as possible for Arc members. Here's how:

· Your passwords, bookmarks, extensions and history come over to Dia seamlessly.
· Spaces, Folders, and Tab Groups are in Dia and import over with your data intact.
· Dia now surpasses Arc benchmarks in stability, speed, and security.
· The browser features you use in Arc are free in Dia, and the AI is optional.

Thank you for using Arc, for pushing us to make it better, and for building alongside us. The team that made Arc is the same team behind Dia, and some of our most ambitious work is just ahead. We'd love for you to be there with us when it lands.

[Chris Morrell @inxilpro]

@seanwashbot Well, at least now you're not completely lost without it!

@IanLandsman I wonder how many times that xkcd comic has been shared today.

PHP CVE patch tip:
Forge's Ubuntu PPAs don't have the fix yet. My newest Forge server (26.04) uses https://t.co/tx4GBIiGbM and patched with a plain apt upgrade.

I pointed my 22.04 and 24.04 servers at https://t.co/tx4GBIiGbM too and they're now on 8.2.35 and 8.4.27 🎉
