PIB क�� अधिकृत बयान के अनुसार, आज से ठीक बारह साल पहले 26 मई 2014 को जब प्रधानमंत्री नरेन्द्र मोदी ने सत्ता संभाली थी, उस दिन भारतीय basket का कच्चा तेल $108.05 प्रति बैरल था और डॉलर-रुपया exchange rate 58.59 रुपए थी। उस समय पे��्रोल ₹71.51 और डीज़ल ₹56.71 प्रति लीटर मिल रहा था।

आज कच्चे तेल की कीमत $99 प्रति बैरल से कम है, लेकिन पेट्रोल और डीज़ल के दाम बढ़कर क्रमशः ₹102.12 और ₹95.20 प्रति लीटर हो गए हैं।

यानी कच्चा तेल सस्ता हुआ, लेकिन पेट्रोल करीब 42.8 % और डीज़ल करीब 67.9 % महँगा हो गया।

हर अर्थशास्त्री जानता है कि पेट्रोल-डीज़ल की महँगाई का असर हर क्षेत्र पर पड़ता है। परिवहन से लेकर खाद्य वस्तुओं तक, आम आदमी पर महँगाई की मार बढ़ती है। इ���के बावजूद सरकार की मुनाफ़ाख़ोरी जारी है।

सवाल सीधा है कि जब कच्चा तेल सस्ता हुआ, तो पेट्रोल-डीज़ल महँगा क्यों?

जनता को राहत क्यों नहीं?
