HEADS UP: iocage 1.2 will add git / git-lite as a run time dependency.

The new iocage release will use devel/py-gitpython, which is heavily relied upon for use of FreeNAS plugins. There is no way to disable the requirement of gitpython.

I have to say … for over 10 years I have refused to use *anything* in #FreeBSD to manage jails but pure base utilities alone entirely because all mgmt software neglected best practices. However, seeing @iocage implement netgraph is changing my opinion as a serious contender

@nirvdrum There sure is! Add --server to your fetch command (not on 0.9.10) and it will pull the INDEX from there. You can also supply file directories and paths that contain those json files. iocage fetch --help will show you more details for that

For any users of 12.0-R trying to fetch the current RELEASE, iocage will check the MANIFEST for each txz before extracting. Unfortunately doc.txz is now empty upstream and not in the MANIFEST. In the meantime you can use the workaround noted here:
