Just added a new float-ladder feature to #iogui math elements. It lets you quickly fine-tune numbers without keyboard. This is very useful on mobile devices since it doesn't trigger on-screen keyboard on first touch! https://t.co/BhVJx496L2 #webcomponents#customelements
Aaand the next blog post discussing #React vs #WebComponents is live!
This time we delve into the development of components when comparing #React, #LitElement and #HTMLElement.

Makepad gets live shader coding + sliders + colorpickers! The first of our live updating Rust macros. Try here working on web: https://t.co/LiD8P0wDVO github https://t.co/yyRUbLWw2l shadercompiler branch, master soon!
I just learned there is web assembly version of #imgui and there is samples of it working with #threejs and plain #webgl. I gotta give this a try, this might be a fun way to make interfaces instead of over laying html on the canvas.

@vvuk My touchpad just stopped working on Ubuntu 20.05. Turns out I need to patch and recompile the kernel to enable it. So, don't worry, everything is fine.
@chinds185@tmaslen I haven't used PropType but I implemented something similar in dev version of IoGui. I find that most bugs that could emerge from using wrong type or property will be detected at component interface. Beyond that TypeScript has only ergonomic advantage in IDEs.
@adarsh_hegde001 @traversymedia Totally with you. And I'm kinda surprised how many people choose to go through the pain of learning this new expensive workflow only fo avoid few bugs that could have been easily fixed. I do see the benefits of optional type checking. ES12 maybe?
It doesn't matter how people learn JavaScript but there is risk that some of them will give up altogether because of complex dependencies and build machinery necessary for using some libraries.
I don't think it matters how you get into JS, whether it's through React (or another framework) but at some point, I think you should try to build something in vanilla JS, no frameworks, in order to better understand all the problems React is solving for you
@CaptainHook55@SaraSoueidan Totally agree. Writing in #vanillajs makes the code healthier in the long run. But throwing a quick prototype in the library of your choice can be easy and fun.
