Every time we come to Lanzarote, we always go to the same Chinese restaurant. We've been going there for decades, with our first visit being in November 2000. Anyway at the start of this holiday, we realised we've forgotten the wooden blocks that we use to lift The table so I can get my knees under it. On previous visits, the staff were always very happy to help Mam and dad put the blocks in position before our meal, and last Friday they were equally happy to try and find us a table that my knees could fit under without the blocks. Fast forward to last night, and, with mam and dad having already pre-booked our table, we get there to find that they have, completely unprompted, raised the table for us! I genuinely couldn't believe it when I got there to find that they had already done something that we have always had to do on our own initiative previously. It's things like that that make. Hong Kong Island in Matagorga a really special place in my view, and the food is delicious!
It might seem strange that I'm praising them for this, but to be honest, I was just delighted, because they didn't have to do it but they did it because they wanted to make sure I could have a comfortable dining experience. At a time when disabled people are treated with suspicion and a lack of respect, things like this show about there are indeed good people out there. #DisabilityLife.
