I got a fact and stat for you: we finished tenth in one of the worst Premier Leagues in recent memory and not a single person responsible for this embarrassment lost their job.
BlueCo spent ~£1.5bn convinced they were weaving a masterpiece of modern football strategy. Yet, as the identity of Chelsea fades and these staggeringly expensive players look utterly incoherent on the pitch, it becomes increasingly obvious that the emperor has no clothes.
Chelsea finished:
- 19 points behind United who fired Amorim 3 days after we fired Maresca
- 8 points behind a down Liverpool
- a promoted Sunderland
- a first time manager at Brentford
- closer to Spurs than Arsenal
Pathetic isn’t a strong enough word.
When Chelsea sacked Maresca they were level on points with Man United and 2 points off 4th…they then hired a nincompoop and when they sacked him three months later they hired a caretaker who’s level is generously about U12 Sunday league
Well fucking done lads.
The worst Chelsea squad I've seen.
Not in terms of talent, but by every other possible measure.
Scorched earth approach needed. Perhaps 5 or 6 I'd be bothered about keeping across the whole squad.
BlueCo's pathetic failure laid bare for all to see.
At least half the team have played like they don't care all season. The most toxic group I've seen at Chelsea. Ending it true to form.
This is beyond what any one manager or one transfer window can fix. The result of years of arrogance and incompetence.
Let’s hope Xabi Alonso’s pull is stronger than an ox, because who the hell wants to join a team who just finished 10th and didn’t get any European football? Yikes.
Last 2 players standing applauding the away support: Reece James & Trevoh Chalobah. Homegrowns. Not the big purchases, not the young wannabes
@ChelseaFC
Tenth. With that budget, that transfer activity and all the hoopla from the suits.
Below Bournemouth, Sunderland, Brighton and Brentford.
Shameful.
I don't swear on here very often but the word wan*ers seems the only appropriate one
11 red cards in all competitions.
Chelsea have broken their own record, they have also earned twice as many dismissals as the next highest club in the Premier League. Remarkable.
Josh Acheampong has interest from United and Bayern, but lets first freeze him out for not signing a new deal and then bench him once he does, for a hapless Malo Gusto.
I have never loathed a Chelsea squad more than this lot. If our genius sporting directors hadn't dropped us headfirst in financial quicksand there should have been a fire sale of this plastic trash.
