Kazakh youth has litterally crushed @Bloomberg with thousands of comments for calling Kazakhstan as ‘Putin’s backyard’ in their coverage of Emmanuel Macron’s visit to the country.

Had the privilege of presenting my research at the #CESS2023 Conference. Huge thanks to the University of Pittsburgh and the Center for Governance and Market team for hosting. Grateful for the invaluable feedback and the chance to reconnect with fellow Central Asia enthusiasts.
Was happy to give a lecture to @kazguu students of the international relations programme, as part of their diplomatic corps guest lectures series!
We spoke about Westphalia, Congress of Vienna, Geneva, foundations of @UN, origins of the @OSCE, and the Helsinki Principles! ✌️
Today was one of the most intense conferencing experiences for me after surviving different roles in three different panels on the same day :) #escas2023
@IkboljonQ spoke on the impact of sanctions on the agency of Central Asia. CA countries should have their own strategies vis-a-vis the Ukraine war. It is not binary (pro-Ukraine or Pro-Russia). Though the West does attempt to co-opt and coerce the CA to support its cause.
My short take on bilateral relations between Kazakhstan and China. Nowadays, China is often described as reliable and predictable partner supporting and respecting sovereignty of Central Asian countries which is important in the context of current turmoil around the region.
#Insights @IkboljonQ, Associate Professor of International Relations at Maqsut Narikbayev KAZGUU University, noted that the economic and trade relations between China and Kazakhstan reached new heights in 2022, with the bilateral trade volume of $30 billion. And the trend will continue in positive ways.
In addition, Qoraboyev mentioned that Kazakhstan strives to develop industrialization, modernization, knowledge economy, and digital economy. And China is one of the leading countries in these fields, so it would be beneficial for both countries to focus on strengthening cooperation in these areas.

But you can make ChatGPT give you references to (real) published papers.
Here's how to do it:
