HE Dr. Salih Hussein Al-Tamimi has formally recieved eight 3,000 year-old objects looted from the archaeological site of Tello, Iraq, in 2003.

Colleagues @britishmuseum helped to identify and reunite the objects. Congratulations to everyone involved.

تسلم سفير جمهورية العراق لدى المملكة المتحدة د. صالح التميمي ثماني قطع أثرية عراقية من السيد هارتويغ فيشر، مدير المتحف البريطاني.
سرقت القطع الأثرية بعد عام 2003 من موقع تلو في محافظة الناصرية - جنوب العراق، ويعود تاريخ بعض قطعها الى سلالة أور الثالثة التي حكمت بين 2006-2111 ق.م

Among the artefacts were a cone baring Sumerian cuneiform script which dates back to period Ur III, translated:
"For Ningirsu, mighty hero of Enlil, Gudea, ruler of Lagash, made everything function as it should, and built for him his Eninnu and restored it to its proper place".

Eight 5000 year old artefacts looted from #Iraq handed over to H.E Iraq Amb to the UK Dr Salih Ali by Hartwig Fischer, Director of the British Museum.
The artefacts belong to Tello ancient site in Nasriyah province, Southern Iraq.
