Democratic candidate for GA House District 46 (NE Cobb/SE Cherokee). Protecting voting rights, funding education, expanding Medicaid, and reducing gun violence.
We can do more to protect women by strengthening legislation that disarms abusive partners, closing loopholes that allow abusers to purchase firearms outside of a background check, & ensuring that court records for abusers are entered promptly into the background check database.
COVID-19 case rates continue to climb in Cobb County and in Georgia. Twice the number of students have missed school this year compared to last. Yet @CobbSchools still does not require masks. Why not?

@BCannon4GA And that's going to require us to meet with voters individually, meet with healthcare professionals, meet with policy experts. We're barely even talking about the shortage in nurses exacerbated by COVID-19 and that is going to bite us no matter what policies we're able to enact.
@BCannon4GA I see lower income working Georgians that have poor access to healthcare because of the GOP declining Medicaid expansion that creates a gap. There's a movement to fix that. And there are lots of other healthcare issues that transcend just coverage. We need to talk about those.
@BCannon4GA @VoteDaza2022 @HeatherK_GA @ChristineJPhD@M4M4ALL@beau@TamaraShealey I don't think it has to be a unified fight for certain policies. We're Democrats. We can disagree. I think where I can disagree with things here is that we not only have to highlight policies we want but why we want those specific policies and how we are going to get there.
Watch the rhetoric: Republican legislators and officials are building a case for the state government to take over the election system in Georgia’s largest county. From @markniesse + @ben_brasch. #gapol

@BCannon4GA @VoteDaza2022 @HeatherK_GA @ChristineJPhD@M4M4ALL I took about a week breather from politics after the special election. Multiple weeks of doing the door knocking required it or I would have been burned out. I had family time this weekend with my daughter and wife.
@ChristineJPhD @VoteDaza2022 @HeatherK_GA @M4M4ALL@BCannon4GA@beau@TamaraShealey Oh I know that and my post wasn't meant to be overly combative. I've met Beau. Met Heather. I've waved at Antonio from a distance while I was with Cobb Dems in the 4th parade. We all should be passionate about healthcare and I think we all have the same overarching goals.
@BCannon4GA @VoteDaza2022 @HeatherK_GA @ChristineJPhD@M4M4ALL We are the minority party in the state. Unfortunately we don't hold any majority like we do in the US House and Senate. We're one of 12 states that hasn't even expanded Medicaid. We can start there, but it's just the tip of the iceberg as to what we have to do.
@VoteDaza2022 @HeatherK_GA @ChristineJPhD@M4M4ALL@BCannon4GA I am all for that. My own mother lost her healthcare and I was able to get her a plan under the ACA that covered her until she was able to get Medicare. And I fought with insurance companies when my father was in the hospital before succumbing to a surprise health episode.
@VoteDaza2022 @HeatherK_GA @ChristineJPhD@M4M4ALL@BCannon4GA I believe healthcare is a human right as well. There aren't many Democrats I know that don't believe that to be the case.
@VoteDaza2022 @HeatherK_GA @ChristineJPhD@M4M4ALL@BCannon4GA I am well aware of the plan. I'm not opposed but simply including that care does not address the deficiencies that exist in the system. Discussions around healthcare have to be more comprehensive than simply supporting Medicare 4 All.
