@RMP_Utah Our street had the power lines switched off yesterday. At the end of the day the crew switched back on only half the street. Can they please just switch ours back on, too?
Chris Firlit MD passed away last night from COVID-19. He was a healthy 37-year-old father of 3 who was 3 months away from finishing his 6-year residency in Detroit. 2 other NYC residents have passed away in 24 hrs. Why don’t know their names. WHY?!
@thatcharisklein I want to apologize to you. My intention with this thread was to encourage physicians to advocate for each other and especially those still in training. My intention was not to upset or you, which it is clear that I have. For that, I am sorry.
@fd640jason I believe you deserve hazard pay for supporting COVID-19 relief efforts. That's the point of the entire thread, which I hope you will consider reading. Thank you.
@vanityglow@OpsBug What happens when a patient codes and requires CPR, which creates aerosols?
I believe there is money to pay everyone (including nurses), but that those who make the financial decisions are not yet motivated to compensate us fairly.
@vanityglow My absolute statement *is* this: All healthcare workers should be compensated fairly for their efforts with regard to COVID-19. 2/2 Thank you for coming to my TED talk.
@vanityglow My post says there are calls for physician volunteers. It also says there are nurses who receive hazard pay. Both of those statements are fact. I never said either in an absolute. It's unfortunate that you read them that way. 1/2
@vanityglow I understand that these advertisements are for travel nurses. This thread is about physicians being asked to also leave their current location, travel to a place, and work (most likely without adequate PPE) for FREE.
