A friend has been on a high fat diet on and off for years to deal with PCOS (now called PMOS). She’s been frustrated multiple times with not losing weight. Also infertile for seven years after three babies.
Recently I had a blunt conversation with her, which she initiated, where we talked hard numbers. I told her I really thought if she went to a more reasonable amount of fat in her body, and added in more good carbs for energy, I thought maybe she could finally lose weight. She took my advice, added in walking, and started losing.
The thing I didn’t tell her was that I wondered if, as she dropped fat, her body would have less excess estrogen coming from excess fat on her frame, allowing her hormones to *finally* regulate and let her get pregnant.
I even saw her Sunday at church and prayed the Lord would bless her with another baby.
She text me a positive pregnancy test Sunday night.
It’s not a LARP. I am pure blooded Anglo-Celtic. The mountains make my spirit sing. The cold breeze of winter fills me with bloodlust. The faewild is within my bones like moss on the forest floor.
As Jung said, you must make the unconscious conscious or it will rule your life.
Most of the beliefs that run your life are those you’re not even consciously aware of. You might say to yourself that you’re confident or strong, but really your subconscious mind repeats everything to the contrary, and your actions validate it.
The best way to shift your beliefs into truly positive ones is to feel your true beliefs, to question and reframe them into more powerful ones, and to act in alignment with your new identity. This isn’t a forcing of your ideal self, but a slow programming of oneself into heroic form.
You know a man deeply loves a woman when his behaviour shows subtle ownership and his language is possessive. His hands are always on her in public and says things like “My girl…”
This is because he’s taken her as part of himself. The greatest gift a man can give a woman
Lizzie's easy, self assured manner was the envy of my teenage years.
"How did she manage to be so genuinely herself, kind, but not put up with crap from anyone?" I wondered.
There are imperfections of course, but Lizzie, to me, represents some of the best characteristics of a sweet, intelligent, confident young woman.
Elizabeth, having rather expected to affront him, was amazed at his gallantry; but there was a mixture of sweetness and archness in her manner which made it difficult for her to affront anybody.

The ones who find true love have the dual abilities of meeting their partners where they are and helping them become who they’re meant to be. They know it’s not always going to be easy, but they persist through it all. They love genuinely, and in return receive genuine love.
“reflection must be reserved for solitary hours; whenever she was alone, she gave way to it as the greatest relief; and not a day went by without a solitary walk, in which she might indulge in all the delight of unpleasant recollections.” — volume 2, chapter 14.
The more formidable the man, the cuter and more wholesome the woman, and the more obnoxious the woman, the more pathetic the man.
Strong men create beautiful women, weak men create ugly women.
Polarity abhors a vacuum.
Some women don't flirt with people. They flirt with life. Extra twenty minutes at the café. Fresh flowers for no reason. Music while getting dressed. Taking the scenic way because the sky looks good. There's romance happening between her and being alive.
