In 2017, @IrishQueers did march in the NYC St Patrick’s Day parade, then went to NYPD’s afterparty to protest police complicity in Trump’s anti-immigrant attacks. Partygoing officers told us to go kill ourselves. That summed up significance of queer “inclusion” in the parade.
So, all the best Irish stuff is missing from NYC's parade. Why? Same reason that queers were excluded. To claim the right to exclude, they said it was a Catholic parade, not Irish. That was silly, but not all wrong. It actually was a parade of the religious right. Still is.
Irish emigration is also just Very Fucking Queer. The 5th Ave St. Patrick's parade has always erased that, even when organizers finally let some queers in. The feeling is that if queers are good you might be allowed in the side door. It's not celebration. https://t.co/jYhqpmroLr
Irish/American queers in NYC have plenty to be proud of. The crossover among @IrishQueers, Irish Lesbian & Gay Organization, @lesbianavengers, @actupny, @lesbianherstory archives, & work against racism, AIDSphobia, cops, & the religious right is legendary. https://t.co/VJylOuTrfM
Irish & Irish American queers were excluded from the NYC #StPatricksDay parade for 25 years. In theory, we're allowed to march now. Why do we skip it? A thread. 🧵☘️🔻
CUFI are holding their annual summit in DC and a group of activists (shoutout to @JVPDCMetro contingent!) are there to speak out against Christian Zionism. If you're invested in justice for Palestinians, watch to find out why you should care about this powerful group #counterCUFI

TFW #CreatingChange is like “we honor the indigenous land where we hold our conference” and then like “you can’t talk about Palestine” and NO ONE is ready to go along with it. Queer activists are fabulous. Our institutions need to try harder to be worthy of us. #cancelpinkwashing
In gorgeous graphics: @TheTaskForce must #CancelPinkwashing and stop censoring MENA, Muslim, Palestinian, anti-Zionist Jewish, and anti-racist queer organizers. #cc19
Hey @TheTaskForce, did you all se how the audience at “your” conference (OUR conference) is overwhelmingly opposed to your censorship of queer activist work on Palestine and #Islamophobia? Shame on you for being a handmaiden of white supremacy.
Juts wanna make sure @TheTaskForce gets to have these helpful resources in their Twitter feed. In case they’re really claiming they still don’t know what shady racist stuff they’re perpetrating. #CancelPinkwashing#CreatingChange

This afternoon, we took over Gilead Sciences activation at #CC19 to call out their greed on the only HIV preventative drug on the market, and to demand generic PrEP now. Join us to fight for universal access. https://t.co/IxKh0LbtBy
#CancelPinkwashing, a collective of anti-Zionist, anti-pinkwashing activists, recently held a protest at the Creating Change Conference, demanding that the National LGBTQ Task Force take a firm stand against colonialism, racism, and apartheid. https://t.co/mk11DL82Wy
#CancelPinkwashing#CC19 guerrilla sessions are going to be located on the 4th floor, to the left of the Renaissance Ballroom, near the bathroom and chair clusters!!
