#Breaking An @USCG Air Station Miami 65 helicopter crew rescued a man clinging to a cooler approximately 30 mi. off Longboat Key.

The man was taken to Tampa General Hospital for medical care.

Sector St. Pete lost communications w/ the man at approx. 6:45 p.m., Wed.

The cool air flowing over the relative warm lake water is producing some waterspouts on the lake today. That same cool air will also produce some occasional rain showers later today, tonight, and Wednesday. We'll see a high near 60 today. #ROC

With partial clearing expected to develop tonight, conditions remain mildly spicy for auroras. We're still hovering around G2 at the moment. If this holds after dark, at least some chance of seeing the northern lights could be a thing later this evening.

At this point, the difference is impossible to miss. We're losing close to 3 minutes of daylight each day. While our sunsets are arriving earlier and earlier, they are also progressing more southward on the horizon. The fall equinox arrives Sunday.
