every year the @CanalRiverTrust sends teams of strimmers and mowers to devastate the thousands of miles of canalside habitat they are custodians of. It's June - peak wildflower season - the canalsides were buzzing with insect life. All now decimated. This has to change.
@arrivatheshires your x4 service is completely unfit for service. Stranded in the freezing cold for over an hour as your 8:43 in Heath and Reach didn’t turn up and another isn’t for another hour, IF that actually turns up!
This service is completely unreliable and shameful.
@GrimArtGroup Likewise, Hope it’s a good one.
I’m only lurking on here sporadically for the Grim.
Shall be off to photograph more mundane little places in 2025 but I’ll leave you with my eternal muse, the Teas/Hotdogs kiosk, for now. Shuttered up like the old year.
@bushontheradio Literally almost came to blows with some utter cunts at a Peter Perrett gig at the Moth Club earlier this year who talked all the way through. People have killed for less.
@Ethan62462226@arrivatheshires They do, there were internal fittings literally falling off in the ancient bus they put on last week! Double deckers on some routes would solve dangerous overcrowding but they won’t invest or commit to actually running a competent service. But they will hike the ticket prices!
@arrivatheshires is there a reason your 6:55 F77 bus from Leighton Buzzard to Luton didn’t bother to turn up today? Well done on making everybody late and then crammed into the next one like sardines on Monday morning. Appalling service.
@Ethan62462226@arrivatheshires Yes they do absolutely nothing. I have previously been fobbed off about their Luton/Leighton Buzzard services (if and when they’re on time!) being dangerously over full and this was a year ago! Guess what? Still dangerously over full buses!
@Ethan62462226@arrivatheshires Oh amazing. So they completely missed out the town and forced two bus loads onto the next one. As ever their non-response is the automated one directing you to a form.
Wretched service.
There’s a romance that surrounds launderettes, transient but familiar. A warm and soap-scented little haven from grey skies and hectic lives.
A wonderful painting by Doreen Fletcher.
Evokes the spirit of the launderette to perfection!
Been a funny old week.
One of my favourite caff signs. Fading but enduring. I like to imagine the steamed windows and gentle morning scenes past.
A reminder to hold the good ones close and together there is community not division.
